France Football believes that Liverpool are competing with Manchester United, Lyon and Arsenal for Lille’s Belgian attacking midfield player Eden Hazard. According to French sources, after interest from United was revealed last week, contact were also made from three other clubs, including Liverpool. Hazard has been dubbed the “little Messi” by previous manager Claude Puel, and Zinedine Zidane has also stated in the past that the 19 year old is a “future superstar.” The appointment Damien Comolli as Director of Football Strategy also makes the link interesting as the Frenchman will obviously know a lot about Hazard.

forget this kid we have Dani Pacheco, Amoo and Ince as our little messi in our youth set up. Give Dani more playing time and the freedom to play his in his natural position then we’ll see if we really need another so called messi from another club
He is a fantastic player. We need Hazard, a good striker, Lass Diarra (or Matuidi) and Coentrão, and suddenly we have a brilliant first team. Sell Babel, Poulsen and Kuyt to help finance these arrivals.
And, as backup I want to see the young lads given their chance. We have top talent in Pacheco, Shelvey, Wilson, Suzo, Kelly and Sterling.
