Rumour Mill: Frozen out Real star puts Reds on alert?

|

Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra was left out of Madrid’s squad that drew 2-2 with AC Milan last night. The French international was apparently fully fit but he was omitted by Real coach Jose Mourinho for the Champions League tie. The omission has led to growing speculation that Diarra will leave the club in January with Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton all Premier League clubs who are said to be interested in the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder. Diarra’s last appearance for Real came back on the 19th October in Real’s first encounter with AC Milan but the player was only given seven minutes on the field.

  • Mike says:

Is he an offensive or defensive midfield player?

If he’s offensive he would be great next to Meirels, and Gerrard behind Torres

    • Eric says:

He’s an all round central midfielder but I would say he’s quite strong defensively. Would probably cost in the region of 10-12 million.

  • rassell says:

no he isn’t good enough…why chelsea and arsnal let him go and wasn’t he playing for pompy too…

    • Torres9 says:

Chelsea let him go as at the time they add a abundance of Midfielders…Ballack, Lampard, Essien, Mikel and Makelele. Plus apparently he had an attitude problem. At Arsenal Wenger mistakenly believed that Flamini was better, and that Gilberto was enough cover. At Pompey he played all the time and was brilliant. Why would you think Real paid 20 add million for him if he was languishing in the Pompey reserves?
