Liverpool physio Darren Burgess has not apologised for his outburst on twitter over Steven Gerrard’s hamstring injury, according to the Daily Mail. The Aussie phoned the FA yesterday to express regret over the tone of the remarks, but significantly, he did not apologise for his comments, and neither have the club itself, since his tweets were made. Roy Hodgson has said he is angry and frustrated, about England’s treatment of Gerrard, especially after the Reds boss has so carefully looked after his captain by rarely using him in Europa League matches. Fabio Capello has said he will contact Hodgson to explain his reasons for keeping Gerrard on beyond the 60 minutes agreed upon, but the England manager will not apologise for keeping him on the pitch longer.
