Roy: It has been bad for a long time

|

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has admitted that the Reds’ away form has not been good enough this season, although he believes that results have not always reflected performances:

“The away form has been bad for a long time. We’ve had one good victory and a couple of reasonable draws but I’m afraid in this league away victories are hard to come by. We’ve not been a lucky team so far, whatever we’ve got we’ve had to battle for. I don’t think mentality comes into it. Against Stoke we had done well against them until they scored the goal. Then we took the game to them and conceded a second and everyone thinks the team played badly and were battered. I believe if we continue to play the way we did against West Ham we may get one or two but it is the level of performance which counts. Results determine everything and people look at the results and then judge the performance. I have to judge the performance sometimes when we win and say ‘That was not very good and we could do better’ and sometimes when we lose I have to look at it and say it was a bad result but not as bad as all that.”

Liverpool face Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

Does this guy know what he is saying? If we play like we did against WestHam we may get 1 or 2???
I can’t believe a manager with more than half the season remaining comes out and says his team IF they are good may get 1 or 2 away wins!!!
    This is the final straw….

  • Jay Wright says:

the problem is that he is a manager that is dependent on luck, as those tactics that he uses are not designed to dominate games…

to counter stoke’s excuse for football you attack them they cant take long throws from their half. by the way all fans should sing “you have to watch it every week, you have to watch it every week” (to the tune your not singing any more)of course it will sound like you have to watch **** every week and thats true.

  • stan howard says:

that is all fans whose team are playing stoke.

One or two more goals, not away wins.

It would help of some could read & understand simple English.

Get rid of Carragher as well as Roy and the team can then push up and play an offside trap.

‘One or two’ (away wins) – what can we expect from a mediocre manager who has, through a long career, achieved an alarmingly low win ratio of away games. It angers me to read such rank rubbish coming out of the mouth of someone appointed to run LFC. It angers me equally that those who make the decisions would suffer such gross lack of ambition. Would the hierarchy at ManU, Real Madrid and Inter Milan put up with this kind of talk? Wake up Messrs Henry, Werner et all and get rid of this bloke.
