Hodgson gives praise to young trio

|

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has praised Lucas Leiva, David Ngog and Ryan Babel for their contributions this season:

“Questions about Lucas, David Ngog and Ryan Babel are based on judgements and decisions that were made before I arrived at the club and I find them very difficult to answer. They have all worked hard to get into the team. Lucas and David Ngog have succeeded and Ryan Babel got his first big chance on Monday and took it with both feet.”

Hodgson would like Lucas to be given a new deal by the Reds:

“I think there are plans to give Lucas a new deal. Damien Comolli mentioned to me about getting in touch with his agent to get a new contract sorted out. Would we like to keep him? That’s a resounding yes.”

This week it is self-proclaimed Liverpool supporter and Tennis ace Caroline Wozniacki!

Yeah Lucas had done extremely well this season and has formed a great partnership with Meireles in central midfield. Ngog has also done reasonably well and it’s nice to see him linking up with Torres up front and the goal he scored against Villa will certainly boost his confidence. It was also nice to see Ryan Babel playing against Bucharest and Villa and I think he has really stepped up to the plate and has shown what he’s capable of. He held up the ball well against Bucharest and brought others into play while against Villa he had a great game and that goal he scored will do him the world of good. Hopefully he can kick on from here and continue the good form. Would like to see him start at Newcastle.
