One more reason for him to be shown the exit door?

|

Hodgson’s recent comments suggesting that Liverpool Football Club does not need to buy players in this upcoming transfer window is a clear and certain indication that Mr. Hodgson needs to be shown the exit door more so than his counterparts at Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers.

While I have the utmost respect for Hodgson as a person and a midlevel manager, I certainly do not believe that he has the qualities and capabilities to manage a team such as Liverpool FC. One will agree that even though he looks great at a team like Fulham, we must not forget that Fulham is at best a mid table team and therefore we will see them under Roy, win today and lose tomorrow. That kind of inconsistency is expected from a side with a manager like Roy Hodgson at the helm.

Indeed, I do believe that Mr. Hodgson is doing all he can to revive the hopes of Liverpool FC at the moment, certainly the lads look much fitter , however, there is only so much one should expect from a manager of his calibre. We will always be linked with average players and be expected to perform at an inconsistent level at all times.

Hodgson’s suggestion and performance thus far only further confirms that he is definitely not the right man for the Anfield job, and although we are currently being linked with a host of top class players, it is clear that the association has more to do with David Comolli’s influence than Hodgson’s.

If there is one certainty, it’s that we are in desperate need of reinforcements in most areas on the pitch: defenders, quality wingers (right and left) and a striker. Surely before we can really expect long term improvement, we need to replace Mr. Hodgson. NESV cannot realistically expect Roy to perform any different than he is at the moment, and allowing Hodgson to stay longer will only prolong the inevitable.

I have been a Liverpool F.C supporter since the mid 80's, I fell in love with this club when I saw the likes of Ian Rush and John Barnes play. I hold a Law degree from the University of London ,and a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of the West Indies.

Good article and all very true.

  • Roy says:

Agreed! A top club requires a top manager, Roy is’nt the man for the job, simples!

  • Roy please go says:

All seems to have went wrong since Sammy Lee came back into the fold? Any takers?

  • Bill says:

How many more reasons does it take for him to be sacked and I also agree Lee should go too.

  • for god sake i now understands that the new owners are not ready to lift our dear club to where it was before,if i dont see no reason why ROY

  • PLS ROY should be sack before this xmas afterall NEWCASTLE sack one one of their best manager that brought back from religation,so why somebody like ROY who is not doing well with LIERPOOLFC should still be at the club.

  • sam1953 says:

he won’t be sacked because he is cheap compare to a world class manager. I see the new owners are no difference from T & H. They won’t folk out big $$$ but only more sweet talk with little action in order to please the fans!

NESV beware, if u don’t replace Hodgson with an upgrade ASAP, you will only alienate the lfc supporters

  • Eric says:

What else does Hodgson has to do for NESV to sack him? Get us relegated? Anyone can see that Hodgson’s not the right man for the job. The guy’s out of his depth and is only a mid-table manager at best.

Liverpool FC needs a world class manager to bring the club forward not this clueless guy. I hope NESV realise soon that the manager’s job is too big for Woy and appoint a world class manager like Hiddink.

You know I agree with most of the ROY MUST GO COMMENTS but before he does shouldn’t we give him a go (I MEAN A FAIR GO) the old saying applies GIVE A MAN ENOUGH ROPE & HE’LL MAKE A NOOSE TO HANG HIMSELF!!! Like you, I believe part of the managers job is to, pick the playing XI, prepare a game plan, have the BALLS to alter the game plan, the ability to motivate them & put in their heads winning isn’t everything it’s the ONLY THING!!! Over the last couple of games he picked the teams & then was told by the medical staff he couldn’t play Torres or Reina then he set the game plan (PLAN A) which was sit back act like statues & make sure we don’t deflect the ball passed the keeper but when we have possession we’ll hoof the ball into their half and the strikers can do the rest. GEE how do you motivate your players when PLAN A is working so well, you predict on Friday if they get a draw he’ll take the team to the Prague for a training game against the locals HOOP-RAY!!! but seriously come SATURDAY WOY 3pts & nothing else will do otherwise throw that rope over that branch & do the rest.
