Sky Italia is reporting that an arbitration panel will rule that Sampdoria’s Antonio Cassano will not be allowed to leave the Genoa club on a free, and has recommended he stays with Sampdoria. The TV channel believes that he will be re-integrated into the team on January 1st and that his wages will be halved. Cassano has been frozen out since late October after becoming involved in a heated row with Sampdoria president Riccardo Garrone, and was linked with a number of clubs including Liverpool over a free transfer move if his contract was terminated. The forward has since claimed he would do anything to stay at the club and it looks as if he has got his wish. Garrone and Sampdoria may still put Cassano on the transfer list in January though.
