According to the Daily Mirror, Inter Milan coach Rafa Benitez is looking to beat Liverpool to the signing of Bolton striker Johan Elmander. The Swede is out of contract in the summer and the Reds are rumoured to be interested, but the Mirror reports that Benitez is planning a move in the January transfer window for the 29 year old. Inter are worried they will lose top scorer Samuel Eto’o to Real Madrid in January, and although Elmander has stated he will consider his future in the summer, the Italian club are prepared to offer him big wages in January. As well as the Reds, Turkish side Fenerbahce are also said to be interested in the Swede.
