10. Alan Smith – At the time Smith was just a young footballer with surprisngly purple lips, but at Anfield in 1998 he made an instant name for himself by scoring the equaliser with his first touch and becoming a Elland Road hero, before he left of course in 2004!

9. Michael Owen – Newcastle signing Michael Owen was supposed to kick-start their revival in the Premier League. Thousands of Newcastle fans poured into St James’ to greet their new hero, but things didn’t exactly go to plan.

8. Federico Macheda – Macheda blasted on to the Premier League stage, scoring the winner against Aston Villa in 2009, a victory that was central to Manchester United‘s Premier League triumph.

7. Robbie Keane – Keane rocked up at Celtic in January, with 5,000 fans outside Celtic Park to greet him after midnight. Keane is no stranger to grand entrances, making a immediate impact at Coventry earlier in his career.

6. Fabrizio Ravanelli – Many Premier League fans were wondering who this old chap with grey hair was when Ravanelli joined Middlesbrough in the 90s, but Boro fans were soon cheering his name as he scored a hat-trick on his debut and put his shirt over his head in his iconic celebration.
