5. Carlos Tevez – In the summer of 2006 one of the most amazing Premier League transfer coups was pulled off by the Hammers. In this list for pure shock value, the arrival of Tevez and Mascherano was simply jaw-dropping and Tevez went on to single-handedly help West Ham stay up, too!
4. Alan Shearer – The year is 1996, the occassion is a footballer coming home. When Alan Shearer turned down Manchester United to sign for Premier League title rivals Newcastle he was back where he belonged. Thousands of Geordies greeted him at St James’, before he scored on his home debut and went on to become a local hero.
3. Jurgen Klinsmann – Klinsmann took English football by storm and quickly became a fans’ favourite at White Hart Lane, scoring twice on his Tottenham debut against Sheffield Wednesday and treating Spurs fans to his famous celebration regularly.
2. Jose Mourinho – Mourinho arrived in England back in 2004 and immediately referred to himself as the ‘Special One’. Jose lived up to his own billing, bringing Chelsea a couple of Premier League trophies during his time in English football.

Robbie Fowler – On 22nd September 1992, a Liverpool legend was born as “God” as he became known made his debut, scoring against Fulham in the away leg of the League Cup before scoring five goals in the return fixture two weeks later. The ulimate grand entrance for one of the Reds’ greatest ever players.
