Anderlecht president Herman van Holsbeeck has confirmed that Liverpool have enquired about their striker Romelu Lukaku, along with Chelsea and Tottenham:
“Our price will be around €30million [£25.2m]. We received one offer from an English club three days before the end of the August transfer period. It was €10m [£8.4m] immediately and €10m in one year. We would not accept the offer because we wanted to keep the player. I think he will go to the Premier League. For him the team is in England. We know that Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool are interested in him and that they follow the player. There is some interest from Real Madrid but we know they are interested in every good young player. What for us is the right club? The Premier League clubs from the UK are the biggest clubs in the world with a lot of money. In Spain you have only Real Madrid and Barcelona who have big money. In Italy there is also the financial crisis. At the end of the season it will be difficult for us to keep him. I know he was a supporter of Chelsea when he was a young boy. If Manchester United, Manchester City or Tottenham come in for him, it is also an interesting prospect.”
Lukaku confirmed this week a move to Chelsea or another Premier League club would be his preferred destination:
“Chelsea and Arsenal tried to sign me when I was 13, 14. I have never hidden it, but it is not because Chelsea is my favourite team that I have to go there. There is also Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City. These big five are very interesting. I admire Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid is a great club, but I see England as more likely than Spain.”

He would be a fantastic addition to the squad and looks a great prospect, hopefully we can sign him but with so many big teams sniffing around him, we will have to pay a high price.
ahh he wants to join a number of clubs… we want players that Liverpool FC is their first choice.

How many players supported their team before they played there?
How many stayed loyal (Michel Owen!)
He needs to leave Belgium to further his carrier and he can not close the door on any of big clubs that could be interested in him becouse Anderlecht is asking for a lot of money for him.

We dont need players talking about how they love the club, we want players with ability and mentality to win, if he is it, I would like him to join Liverpool, and Liverpool will become his favorite team soon enaugh.
