Roy: “We’re all hurting in this situation”

|

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has said he understands the fans frustrations at the poor displays that the Reds have put in recently. Speaking to Liverpoolfc.tv he said:

“It’s very important the fans realise that we understand they have high hopes, expectations and ambitions for the club and the team. We have high hopes, expectations and ambitions as well. Every time we go on to the field we desperately want to see those dreams materialise and to produce the performances which bring you results. It’s very painful when it’s not happening and the fans make their views felt. We’re all hurting in this situation.”

Hodgson also revealed that Raul Meireles will be fit for the FA Cup tie against Man Utd:

“He’s made a remarkably quick recovery and it’s one of the few times in a long time that we’ve been able to consider Lucas, Steven Gerrard and Meireles on the pitch together. First Steven Gerrard was out for six weeks and then Raul Meireles got injured. It’s good to have the three of those available to play.”

Shut up Roy! don’t say anymore…you should have gone by now…

  • PJ says:

Is expecting to beat Wolves & Blackpool at home, and the likes of Blackburn Reserves away highly ambitious? A new low will be when Roy leads us to a defeat at Blackpool allowing them to do the double over us. I can’t remember the last time we won 3 or 4 league games on the bounce!! Woy isn’t allowed to do a press conference anymore to save him saying something stupid or embarrasing the club. It’s time for the owners to show some leadership and announce some plans for going forward.

  • Roy says:

Is that ‘effing’ **** still here? What are NESV doing? do they think give it a few days and the fans will forget. Get rid now or i can see gates fall and we’ll be at war with another bunch of yanks.

why is this idiot still in charge with such a big game coming up!!!!

    • HellAngel says:

Because the ideal replacement for him has not been found yet!!! Stupid Question!! You think the fenway group are fools ??

  • Mike Arms says:

It makes no sense to sack a manager when they have no replacement lined up. With no CEO at the club and the owners living in the USA then to be without a manager too would be very foolish.
The long term plan was always to evaluate the squad and the needs of the club until the summer then put a strategic plan in place. Ground development, academy development, squad development, sponsorship, management, commercial revenues etc etc. It all takes time to evaluate and all has to be done in a solvent diligent manner, throwing tea cups and sacking people will not solve anything at all but just add to the disarray. Obviously Hodgson is struggling, but there are no guarantees that a temporary manager would make any difference, afterall for all Hodgsons weaknesses he is a very experienced manager who know the premiership and knows most of the players. Would a rookie foreign manager who knows very little about the players and the premiership really be able to make a big difference in the next 5 months?

  • Silver Fox says:

Roy has effectively gone. Packaged agreed senior players picked side for Sunday should be a few surprises. All will be announced after game
