Rumour Mill: Reds have bid “rejected” for midfield starlet

|

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool and Arsenal have had bids rejected by Southampton for their midfield starlet Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Saints rate the player at £10million and is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in the country but both clubs have had bids of £5million plus add-ons rejected. The paper states that Oxlade-Chamberlain’s advisors were informed that the bids were rejected on Tuesday, and it is believed the South coast club want more of the money up front. Both Liverpool and Arsenal are now said to be looking to agree a pay structure with Southampton for the add ons involved in the deal.

This week it is former Liverpool WAG Joanna Taylor!

then go back with an improved offer! this kid looks like a diamond, are we going to let the gunners or man-ure beat us to another potential superstar? it’s time we took some risks with kids like this!

i totally agree with you Steve MCauley , Liverpool have messed around to much in this transfer window and we only have one person to blame for this …. Damien comolli !!! he has messed up the suarez deal , the adam deal and now this !!! im sick of all the talk we have had from anfield saying money is not a problem yet they refuse to meet the asking price !!! its not that we are being robbed of our money at these prices its just the way the market is at the moment , if nesv arte not willing to match the prices set then what was the point of them buying the club in the first place ???

we can’t afford anyone that costs more than £4.5mil.

We can’t keep making signings of potential, we have just lost £6 million on Babel. LFC is a business and it cannot afford to risk losing millions on every “wonder kid” that comes along. If we want wonder kids then we need to ensure the academy is doing it’s job properly.

Even with Torress poor form this season(some may not agree). I wonder if LFC can allow him leave with a price tag less than £40m-£50m. Why offer £12.7 for 24yr old captain. Even if he is not their captain they wont let him go for that price @least not with his kind of goal to game ratio.
Comolli or whoever should stop playing around. £6m from babel added to the fee on ground should do.

Jeez first the (Hate) mail is a joke he was going to Arsenal last week now he’s not. Of course they threw our name in cause they hate us with a passion and love to see players supposedly ‘turn us down’. Secondly will everyone please for the love of God please calm down. Southampton want £10 million for a kid who’s played something like 20 matches in League 1, what part of insane would make you pay that? Lets look at Jonjo Shelvey who played over 40 games for Charlton, in the Championship and League 1 and he cost £1.7 million! Figure it out guys Southampton are asking stupid prices and we’re right to refuse to pay them. If you pay over the top once you’re marked look at City paying over £30 million for Robinho and they’ve been overcharged ever since. It’s okay for City they have owners who are mega loaded, we don’t. What we have is (hopefully)decent honest wealthy owners who seem intent on building long term plans and I for one totally agree with them and Comoli for refusing to pay £30 million for Suarez, why should we? Ajax will either blink first or have a very peed of player on their books. What the moaners don’t seem to have grasped is we ain’t going to qualify for the CL this season and we ain’t getting relegated so we have until the end of the season to prepare for next season off the pitch. We don’t need Suarez, Adam, or whoever now, we need them signed sealed and delivered in the summer so why pay overinflated prices now? To qualify for the Europa League, don’t make me laugh we’re Liverpool not Fulham and the current Europa League isn’t worth the bother of going for next. season when we should be aiming for the CL spots

    totally agree with yogi
why give the greedy clubs the extra now when we can get them cheaper in the summer and as well as ajax havin a peed off player on their books blackpool and southampton will as well.
we dont need to go mad right now as the team seems to be pullin it together and with one or two frugal signings especially a striker ,barrios from dortmund for about 6 mill or cavani from palermo (currently on loan at napoli)for about the same ,both these guys are bangin in the goals for their teams and are worth a punt at the price they would be available for,
whatever happens we need to stay calm and let the gaffer do his job as he will get it right
