To be a successful as Liverpool have been over the last 40 years, an essential component has been the reliability and consistency of the man between the sticks. Goalkeepers have a much longer shelf life than the average footballer, and if they are good enough, can stay at the top of their game for many years, way beyond those of their contemporary outfield players. The Reds have been lucky to have many consistently good keepers over the years, including Ray Clemence and Bruce Grobbelaar. We currently have a very good one in Pepe Reina too but who makes it to the top of my list?
