Aldridge: If Reina left we would have a much bigger problem

|

Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge says he would be more concerned if Reds goalkeeper Pepe Reina left the club than he has been about the departure of Fernando Torres. He wrote in his column for the Liverpool Echo:

“If someone had said to me would you rather lose Torres or Pepe Reina it would be Torres every time. If Reina left we would have a much bigger problem. There are rumours flying around about clubs coming in for him this summer and Kenny Dalglish desperately needs to keep Reina. He is not only one of the best keepers in the world but he’s a leader in the dressing room and players look up to him. He’s become an honorary Scouser. Reina has got better and better over the years, while Torres had gone the other way.”

Aldridge also praised the display of Jamie Carragher against Chelsea:

“Carra pushed himself to the limit at Stamford Bridge to make up for his lack of match fitness and his reading of the game was phenomenal. At 33 he still has so much to offer. People went on about Sami Hyypia losing his pace but in his last year at Anfield he was excellent and he’s still playing at 37. I played until I was nearly 39 and the fact is the older you get, the wiser you become. Your brain works quicker than your legs and you see things faster.”

This week it is even more of Liverpool WAG Carly Zucker!

i don’t know how accurate today’s reported quotes from pepe are, so i’ll give him the benefit of the doubt however, if they are true, i will say this:
any TRULY COMMITTED liverpool player wouldn’t even consider such a move and if reina is, then he should be sold but as Lfc hold all the cards, NOT to man-ure! i truly believe that king kenny wouldn’t dream of doing business with slur alex given the history, remember heinze anybody?
i also sincerely believe, under FSG, that number 19 will arrive within 3 seasons and i hope pepe and stevie G are there to lift it! the future is bright at Lfc, i hope our star players recognise this

There is NO player bigger then Liverpool Football club. FULL STOP!!

What him to go …. NO
Missed if he did .. YES
    Can he be replaced. YES

Lets get back to the old days, the days we played football the way it is meant to be played, back then you came to LFC to learn and be part of a successful team, not to stroke your ego …

Players moved on and we were still LFC, the only difference is newer managers have tried new tactics and they haven’t worked as well … but to be held to ransom by a player … get over yourselves, we are the might reds … the success will return when the group of players are all working for the same outcome .. not there own !!!

Reina needs to consider if he has the commitment (100%) to stay and be part of the new successes coming our way, if he doesn’t, fine, he is allow to move on and best wishes, but don’t believe for a minute he holds this team together and without him we are in trouble … thats a defeatist mentality.

Is the Spanish revolution over, yes … bring on the might reds revolution …

    Walk On …
