Juve getting cold feet over Reds midfielder deal?

|

La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Juventus are beginning to have serious doubts about spending the €16.5million required to make Alberto Aquilani’s move from Liverpool permanent in the summer. Aquilani is apparently demanding €3.5m per season but Juve general manager Giuseppe Marotta is only willing to give him €2.5m, according to the Italian newspaper. The availability of a cheaper option in Andrea Pirlo, who is available on a Bosman free transfer in the summer from AC Milan, has also complicated matters as although the 31 year old’s wages would be more, they wouldn’t have to shell out a transfer fee too.

INTRODUCING FIGHT NIGHT CHAMPION! . . .

I wouldn’t mind seeing the Aquaman back at Anfield!

  • ben tan says:

@ magumopus. Don’t think he’ll feature much for liverpool even if he comes back. No doubt this guy’s talented. But with raul in the form he’s in, it’s hard for alberto to get in the team. So I reckon we sell him for a fee between $15M-$20M.

  • Dale Marlow says:

Great, really would love to get him back. I think Kenny would be able to make this guy a premiership star. Also, I think the days when we can fritter away money by releasing players we paid shedloads for, are long gone. If Juve aren’t prepared to pay he stays with us, making the squad more powerful into the bargain.

i was at the wigan game on saturday and looked at our midfield of kuyt, lucas, fabio auralio (spelling?) and maxi and could not believe how bad our midfield troubles are. Lucas has good days, but also very bad ones, maxi does not go into tackles at all and his positional play is pretty bad, fabio is not a midfielder. If theres a chance of getting alberto back for nothing then we should do it, if only to have some classy backups, lets not go back to the days when we had biscan and diao, lets gets some class back, some fith back and we’ll be fine. In Dalglish i trust.

  • It would be good to have him back at liverpool, we could then focus on a winger and a left back.

  • anakjin says:

dont bring him back… she ( hahahahaa ) is a rafa player… we want a new era… maybe only gerrad and cara and agger still stay.

    • Dean says:

So you want to sell the best keeper we have had in many a year because Rafa bought him? This would have us also sell Agger,Pacheco,Suso,Raheem,Wilson and Jonjo as well. Then you want us to buy marveaux for 12 million when we have already signed him on a bosman free transfer, roy bought konchesky, poulsen and signed cole on a free.Either you cant read or you are ignorant or both.

    • Paul says:

Seriously, keep your day job – if you have one.

    • Chris says:

So sell Fabio and Emiliano, the only two left backs at the club and replace them with…no-one?

And also sell Pepe, one of the best goalies in the world and what.. field Gulacsi or Jones?

      Get back on FIFA moron.

  • geeves says:

    Hey Frank
    Leave Biscan alone

  • i think that mr,KENNY is also monitoring AQUILANI’S form at juv.what am saying is if ALBERTO AQUILANI is upto the quality that MR,KENNY want then he’ll[AQUILANI]be back to LIVERPOOL FC,but if he’s not then we can let him go between 15 to 20,mill.pounce,and if we can bring in -CHARLIE ADAMS-and other midfielders that are contacted already i think it’ll be hard for AQUILANI to come back, though he’s a good playmaker.

  • Tenacious T says:

Better than Poulsen… get him back!!!

    • anteater says:

I’d like to contest that. Aquilani a better defensive midfielder than Poulsen? The Italian would be run over by every side in the Prem if you’d ask him to protect the back four.

  • Mikey82 says:

We need a big talented squad. Bring him back, second to Gerrard for assists last season which is remarkable considering the game time he had.

Top pass and move player. Gets everyone else playing.

For the person that had a pop at Rafa – below the belt dude. Look how the young players are doing and consider why all the profits on sales were paying off interest…… yet you blame the manager????????????? Clueless.

  • Grayman says:

    Swap him for Momo Sissoko.
