Pardew admits “it’s going to be difficult” to keep Reds target

|

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has told the Journal that it will be difficult to keep Liverpool target Jose Enrique. The Magpies boss has stated however that he will still try and persuade him to stay once the club has avoided relegation:

“We haven’t given up on keeping players at the football club – absolutely not. We’re going to try and compete to keep Jose but the reality is that it’s going to be difficult. He has one year on his contract by the time the summer comes and in some ways the ball is in Jose’s court, and he has a lot of control over the situation. I look forward to talking to him once we are safe.”

Both Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with the Spanish left back in recent weeks.

Why sign another left back when we’ve got a younger and in my opinion a more solid left back in Insua? He should never have gone out on loan. He was improving his game during the latter days of Benitez’s reign. Please recall him asap. Don’t wanna lose a young talent.

  • Kenny says:

Insua is the wrong option, he is not fast enough to be a fullback. Leave Johnson at leftback for next season, promote Mavinga to rotate with Johnson in the Premier League. Promote Jack Robinson to play in the cup competitions. Too much money has been wasted by the club on leftbacks in the last 5 years. The manager needs to show the guts needed to bring these young players into the first eleven.

Wingers and central defenders is where LFC need to improve first before next yr. The club needs to start brings youngsters through the ranks and rely on King Kenny to have them produce.

Kenny should not renew Dirk Kuyt’s contract , I say we get rid of him and David Ngog , they have brought nothing to our team, they were signed as a strikers and has scored very few goals.they cannot stop a ball or hold a ball and both are clumsy and go to ground very easily ,their passing of a ball is pathetic and yet they are highly paid so called professional foortballers. one should take count the amount of possession we lose when these two amatuers have the ball. When I see these two on the team sheet I know we not going to win the game.
