Should we applaud or condemn Torres for his musical choice?

|

It seems there is a tradition down at Stamford Bridge, when a new player joins the club, they have to sing a song in the dressing room. Well it turns out that Fernando Torres picked our anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone, and he sung it with such gusto that his new Chelsea team-mates joined in with him. I don’t know whether to applaud Torres or condemn him right now, but he obviously has some genuine feelings from his 3 years on Merseyside. I am sure he will live to regret his decision to leave Liverpool after Chelsea crashed out of the Cup to Everton on Saturday.

He did a lot for us when he was there, he also sulked alot, I will thank Nando for the memories he has left with us, but will not wish him the best for the future.

  • James says:

Whether he lives to regret it, it will have nothing to do with crashing out to Everton. He is cup tied anyway! Similarly for the Champions League. So as it looks like Chelsea are also out of the running in the league, it makes his move in January all the more strange. Anyway the past is the past and we need to move on!

  • Mike roberts says:

I find it confusing on what to think about this as he insulted Liverpool yet he goes and sings our song ! Personally I don’t hate him, but I do NOT wish him success whilst he plays in the prem ! In fact I’m hoping we finish above chelski just to see what he has to say then ! Knowing what he had said about reasons to leave Liverpool  I can imagine him repeating the script to come back to Liverpool if chelski fail to qualify for the CL and Liverpool manage to get in the CL . Would I have him back ? Well for half the price yes !

  • Michae Musuk says:

Leave the boy alone. Guys, get over it. We have enough good players at our club to worry about those who have served us well in the past and moved on. Let us all do the same.

  • Bert says:

    Enough about Torres now!

  • ikcl says:

    @ James
pretty sure he can play cl, he only played europa this season

  • Jacques says:

Neither applaud or condemn- move on.

  • Eric says:

Get a grip and move on. Torres was the past, look to the future and move on. The guy’s hated by many of us but he did leave us with many memories over the three and a half years. I wish him all the best for the future but not in the Prem.

Even if chelsea fail to qualify for the CL his reasons for moving are still valid. If they don’t qualify for the CL then Abramovitch will appoint a new manager and give him millions to spend, which is what big clubs like Real Madrid do. FSG on the other hand have spent bugger all so far but that may be because they were overtaken by events in January. I’m waiting to see what FSG do in the summer before judging them. Anyway I think he sang YNWA because it is the only song he knows the english words to!

  • stanley says:

i hated him when he left but after watching him play against fulham, i cant help but feel sorry for him..he obviously isn’t the same player he was a couple of years ago..if and when he leaves chelsea, i might even forgive him..

  • Shoppy says:

He will b back at athletico madrid in 18 months time, on loan, with his tail between his legs!! Shame really.

  • Bekim says:

I admire him for what he did for us. The best number 9.Even though it hurt that he’s gone to the chavs i will never hate him. I will allways remember him for the goals he scored.

  • Jack says:

Torres may have sung YNWA because it was the only english song he knew the words to but apparently he sung it with such gusto that the chelsea players joined in. For him to sing like that he must have summoned some genuine memories of playing at Liverpoool. I hated him when he left, then genuinely forgot him but now I feel ever so slightly sorry for him. I have a feeling that Fernando will one day find out what it really means when people say “you never know what you had till its gone”.

  • Kevin says:

F*** him, he’s not a liverpool player anymore. Couldn’t care less if he reduced the nation to tears singing it on x-factor. Wish some of our so-called fans would shut up about him. They’re making us look like a small club.

  • scouser joe says:

Benayoun sang the same song, they probably couldnt think of nothing else. Means nothing and i hope he manages to maintain the form he showed so far for them. Only the russians chequebook will save an ageing side that are no better than us and they will soon find out that we are back aqnd next season will hopefully have Torres mulling over his decision.

  • shardeYNWALFC4EVER says:

Basically all Chelsea fans & players would love to be wearing the red of Pool, they want:
    – our players (past or present)Stevie,Yossi, Nando, Anelka
    – our songs!!
    – Our gates!!
    – our history!!

They even managed to sneak a little red on their shirts.

But Chelskis money neither buys CLASS or the Champions League!
    Come on Copenhagen.

  • hugh yao says:

as the saying goes, “we hate him so much because we love him so much.” after all the good times he has given us, i can’t hate him. best to forgive and move on. so i’ll say this, i loved you torres, and i still love you. you have your reasons for leaving. but you’ve given us your best years too. you made us very proud to have you in the team.

  • xx says:

    see merseyside still hunts him
