Loan Watch – El Zhar scores and Aquilani’s relief at winning

|

David Amoo – The winger is struggling for first team opportunities at Hull City and has invariably been used as a substitute. In fact he has yet to start a match for the Tigers and came on as a 79th minute sub against Norwich City at the weekend. Nicky Barmby equalised for the home side after former Reds defender Zak Whitbread had put Norwich 1-0 in the first half. Hull now lie 10th on 56 points, 4 points off the Play-off positions.

Nathan Eccleston – After starting promisingly on loan at Charlton, Eccelston’s time at the Addicks has begun to turn sour. After being an unused substitute in Charlton’s 1-0 home loss to Brentford a week before last, Eccleston was again on the bench for Saturday’s game against Dagenham & Redbridge. This time he did come on, in the 79th minute, but he couldn’t prevent Charlton slipping to a 2-1 defeat through goals from Jon Nurse and Danny Green. Charlton now haven’t won in eight league matches and lie a staggering 13 points off the Play-off places.

Emiliano Insua – The Argentine still hasn’t hasn’t featured in a Galatasaray squad, let alone the first team, since February and was not present at the weekend as Fenerbahce beat Galatasaray. Colin Kazim-Richards put Galatasaray in front in the first half, but goals from Semih Senturk, and Alex in the last five minutes, sealed a win for Fenerbahce. Galatasaray now lie 11th in the Turkish league after three defeats in four matches.

Nabil El Zhar was our only natural winger yet he was loaned out by the inept Hodgson for some reason. The guy at least has some pace and can dribble and put in some crosses. I’m pretty sure he can do better than the likes of Cole, Maxi and Kuyt out wide in crossing the ball. Liverpool need to stop loaning out first team players because that doesn’t benefit the club in any way. Either keep them or sell them, loaning out first team players is the worst option.

What have you been smoking. El Zhar was limited at best. If we get anything back from him I’d be surprised. Let’s face it he’s not exactly setting the Greek First dvision alight at the moment. A lot of thing you can blame Hodgson for El Zhar’s limited ability is not one of them.

Now there is a name I wished I heard the last of. Just reiterates the amount of deadwood that needs shifting around the club. Maybe we should hold a car boot sale outside Melwood at the end of the season. Buy one get one free offers. I’ll get some fliers printed up.

El Zhar eptomised why we had no decent youth coming through. He was pants. Fast. But pants. We’re coming out of those dark days and El Zhar will one day be a distant memory. Like Torben Piechnik and Sean Dundee and of course, Voronin!!!!!!

Don’t be so cruel guys, El Zhar always had potential, but had constant injury set backs. I don’t think he’s good enough for what we need but I wouldn’t call him rubbish. He has a bit of pace, good at dribbling, he’s actually the type of player we need, but seems to be just one step in class lower.

    Agree. El Zhar utter dross

  • Bajan Scouza says:

Dosent seem as if any of our loanees are getting enough play, so bring them all back and have KK asses them, and then get rid of the dross. I still think Insua can be a good LB, and never saw enough of El Zhar to realy commment but I did like his pace.
