Rumour Mill: Kenny chasing newly capped Irish International?

|

The People is reporting that Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is chasing Wigan midfielder and Ireland international James McCarthy. The Reds missed out on the youngster back in 2006 when Rafa Benitez offered the player a contract after a successful trial but he moved from Hamilton to Wigan in 2009 and has already been a success at the DW Stadium. McCarthy made his international debut for Ireland against Macedonia on Saturday and according to the People, Chelsea are also now said to be vying for the player’s signature with the Reds.

Yes!! I hope Kenny brings James McCarthy to Liverpool. The guy has shown at Wigan that he’s very promising and at just 20 he will continue to improve at a big club. Good strong box-to-box midfielder and will be worth 20 mil in a couple years time. Along with the likes of Wilshere, Henderson and Rodwell, he’s probably one of the best young midfielders in the Premier League at the moment so I hope we get this guy before Chelsea do.
