Liverpool winger Glen Johnson has revealed why he took Spanish lessons. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, he said:
“I’ve been learning for a few years. When you are fit and everything is going well, you finish about 2pm, and I was wondering what I could do with myself, so I thought I would learn another language. I chose Spanish, and that was that. That was the only reason.”
Johnson explains he is happy to stay at Liverpool:
“I definitely see my future here. It has never entered my head that I made the wrong choice. I am not the sort of person who, just because things are going badly, would jump ship. It was difficult for the club at the start of this season but we are over the hill now and everything is looking bright. The new owners [Fenway Sports Group] coming in was like a cloud being lifted. Everyone feels like we are over the worst of it, we have fantastic owners, a fantastic manager and a fantastic coaching staff. With a few signings this summer, we will be a force.”

Listen to Johnson now – as soon as things are looking good at the club he stakes his claim. I dont remember him ever coming out at the start of the season and denying the rumours that he wanted to leave. We dont need him now anyway – sorted for right backs. Get rid – mercenary.
So everytime newspapers publish rubbish stories about Johnson leaving you expect the guy to come out and publicly state that he has no intention of leaving and is happy at the club.
haha..so true..but overall, he’s still quite an important member of the team and although we have promising youngsters in Kelly and Flanna, we could really use his experience and attacking instincts…

These people have 10 years app. To make all of the money they will do in life. I can totally understand mercs. What I do not understand is people who are being petty about getting 50k a week or 110k a week. They will still be millionaires. Why no gaining a legendary status to it(like Owen could have done, but didn’t?)
I think he is being genuine, alot of people decide to learn a new language. If anything, it shows he is mature and open minded!
d only reason for him to learn spanish was to move there but let me tell u he can move we have got 2 very good rightbacks so go and take ur ass somewhere and with that money we can buy an extra quality players

Johnson is a world class wing back and the young playes still have a long way to go,we need all of them!!
