Liverpool and Aston Villa are said to be tracking Rennes captain Kader Magane, according to the Daily Mirror, and local newspaper the Express & Star. Both are reporting that the 28 year old is a prime summer target for Gerard Houllier’s Villa side, but that Liverpool’s Director of Football Damien Comolli is keeping tabs on the player. Magane, is a utility player who can play in defence and midfield, and could be seen as a useful squad player for the Reds. The Mirror believes that Rennes value their captain at £3million. Liverpool have previously tracked Rennes winger Sylvain Marveaux.
