“£4m? Get stuffed. It would be the cheapest buy ever.”

|

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has revealed they were only receiving bids of £4m for Charlie Adam in January. He told the Independent on Sunday:

“He is up there with the best I’ve managed, and I am happy for him that he’s caught the eye of some fabulous clubs. But we won’t be ripped off. We were getting bids of £4m in January and we were damn well right not to sell him for that. £4m? Get stuffed. It would be the cheapest buy ever. He might be entering the final year of his contract but we don’t need to sell on the cheap. My chairman is more stubborn than you could believe about these matters. If anyone wants Charlie they will have to pay proper money which we can reinvest in the team – we are not in the habit of giving away our best players.”

Liverpool, Tottenham and Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Adam this summer.

This week it is former LFC WAG Amii Grove!

Fine, see what you can get in January for him. In case your as dumb as you sound, that’ll be a big fat zero.

  • SuaRed says:

Looks like Charlie Adam will be playing in the Championship then!

That’s what he gets for being loyal to Blackpool!

Holloway needs to talk to the player!!!

  • tony says:

4 mil more than enuth 4 adams

  • mouctar says:

    adam et modic bien

  • timmo says:

The fact you will get a cut of whatever fee you get for Adam has nothing to do with you trying to get as much as possible then?

  • Chill says:

Poor Adams, shown nothing but loyalty to them and in his last year of his contract you would think that his manager would let him go to a bigger club for a decent fee. But OOOOOHHHH nOOOOOOO They want to sell him for the same price as if he had just signed a 4 year deal last month.. what a plumb. Sell him for 6-8 mill make a massive prifit and be happy but Ian Hollaway and Blackpool greed is holding the player back. In Jan you won’t get 3 mill for him let alone the silly money your asking for now

  • anfield rd dreamer says:

The simple fact is that Adam is worth more to Blackpool than to any team that buys him! He has been quality for them over the last year but hasn’t convinced at international level or any other point in his career. Whoever buys him is taking a risk he could be great or he could be awful. As good a trick as pin point accuracy is he is still a one trick pony and any side he is in needs to be moulded around him. Really not sure if he is worth the risk! If he does come I will be giving him 110% support but won’t cry if he goes elsewhere!

Swap him for Ngog? They want 8mil for David?

  • chunky says:

I still remember that Holloway’s friend,Ole Rednose, said of him,”He always whinges poverty when buying a player and gets greedy when he sells one!”.
It is in Holloway’s interest to get the most extortionate price for Adam ( someone incidentally that I do nor rate at his age for LFC )because HE OWNS A PART of the player!!!!! ’nuff said….

  • chambers says:

Adam is not what we need for Liverpool.

  • michael says:

adam could be good for us but wouldnt go much over 5mil. dont think theres that much interest in him now and we could keep aqua and pick up adam for free nxt year.

    • Rory says:

yes, good to compete for the sixthand seventh place with Everton and Newcastle…

  • Karim says:

The reason Blackpool got relegated was because they didnt sell Adam. Had they sold him for £10mil mid Jan which is what we offered them, then they had time to go and replace him.

  • Jay says:

Adam is worth more than 4 million thats all that Holloway is saying and anyone with any football knowledge would have to agree with that.

I think anything between 6-8 million is fair
