Four Reasons why the Reds may Leapfrog Arsenal Next Year

The top four over the last few seasons has come under intense pressure from the ‘lesser’ teams; firstly there was Aston Villa attempting to ruin the party, then eventually Tottenham Hotspur ousted Liverpool and got a taste of Champions League football and this season the Lilywhites missed out to Manchester City. Already, speculation has begun on who will be next season’s top four, especially as Arsenal appear to be getting weaker with each season that passes. This season, I think the Gunners became the first team ever to finish fourth in a two horse race! Liverpool‘s new found resurgence saw them very nearly break back into the top four, after a horrendous beginning to this season under Roy Hodgson. Everything is in place at Anfield for a very successful 2011/12 season, starting with reclaiming their Champions League berth from Arsenal, and this is why (in this humble writer’s opinion).

– Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri want to leave, and both players are exceptional talents, with Nasri taking the Spaniard’s mantle as Arsenal’s main star whilst the Spaniard sent flirty text messages to Pique from the treatment room. Both players’ decisions to openly state that they would happily leave Arsenal shows how little faith they have in the Gunners ability to challenge for the major honours; losing two influential players will rock Arsenal and no wonder kid signing from France can help fill the void or maintain their Champions League status.

– Phil Jones, Jordan Henderson and, erm, Carl Jenkinson: not hard to work out who Arsenal signed is it? As Liverpool continue splashing the cash despite spending nearly £60 million on two signings in January, Arsene Wenger maintains his usual transfer policy despite all his promises that Arsenal will spend big in the transfer market. With very little happening at the Emirates and everything happening on Merseyside, Liverpool are very much a team preparing for Champions League qualification next season.

Same old Liverpool, next year, next year. Give ua all a break next year will never come, and when king kenny falls over again and clears off all we will hear is next year; next year

Interesting to see if a lesser team like Liverpool can break into the top four. Personally I doubt it. A lot of huffing and puffing and wishful thinking on Merseyside at the moment. Optimism’s a great and positive thing. All I’ve seen so far are a few flashes in the pan from the “Kenny effect”. Still looks fragile. Oh and wait until the transfer window has played out before being so certain of the demise of Arsenal. It’s been predicted before…….

Im a huge liverpool supporter and have been for 30 years, but not lets get carried away.

So far we have brought in henderson – so what?.
see that maxi wnats to go home back to his homeland club, thats a great shame, we need him he is a great little squad player to have.

We have crap to get rid of and more of it then any other club; cole, ngog, jovanovic, aurelio, soto, degen, insua, el zhar, ince, darby, brad jones, poulsen, konchesky, they all need to be given away just to get them off the wage bill. – Aquilani needs to get out asap too!.

This is the summer window and for me Liverpool have yet to make me think we are heading in the right places, whikle not all the big names will want to come and play no champions league, and while star players with so called big names has never been what this once great club was about.

There must be better players out there than paying a stupid 10 mill for a fat adam, or a 20 million crazy price for an average downing.

Scott dann worth 10 mill, no way id rather go all out for a younger sakho at psg or lovern whi has much much more going for him.

So please lets not get to far ahead, when we get linked and then buy better players i will then go along with your headline but until then lets cool talk of ” its ok at liverpool once again” because for me it is not, this buy english poilcy is a load of s***e……

Arsenal are making their statement of intent with Gervinho, William and Samba all strongly linked in recent weeks…expect Arsenal to have alot stronger and indepth sqaud.

    If liverpool sign 1x quality:
Left Back – a la Enrique or Cissoko
Centre Back – a la Sakho
Winger/Striker hybrid – a la Lavezzi, Jeffren, Mata, Perotti or Corzola.

Then coupled with Suarez, Carroll, Agger, Johnson, Meriles and the return of renewed Gerrard, they will have a complete team with bottle, experience, pace, guille, flair and a manager that instills massive confidence throughout the season.

With this then perhaps they will have their chance of title contenders…

  • Karim says:

where does it say anywhere about being title contenders? the author is talking about breaking into the top 4 which year by year has become more difficult.

Please Arsenal fans, stop deluding yourselves by thinking you have more chance of winning the league or getting into the top 4 next season than we do.

Your team crumbled after admittedly a very very late penalty at the Emirates but you do have a view of self pity at the moment.

Its time to grow your balls back and get players in that will show fight for the club. Where are your Seamans, Adams, Keowns, Dixons, Vieiras?

This is what Kenny is doing at Liverpool. He is bringing back good old fashioned UK based players who might not be the most skillful but they will work hard and give everything and leave nothing once the game is over.

I fully back the author and LFC will break into the top four once again next season.

  • sam says:

no liverpool will not get back into the top four next season at all with what we are lining up!.

Suarez was our best player in terms of creativity, and what else do we have with class of that little fella up top, and please dont tell me carroll, he has to smarted up and get fit for me…

Gerrard will be massive again for us, and so will lucus, raul has to stay, we just havent got anywhere near enough to let him go.

If you adam and henderson and that very over rated downing is enough then we are in hug trouble.

We need a huge tall, powerful, center half with pace and thats sakho for me.

we need a great left back who can bomb forward and add power to the team, thats cissohko for me, and there is no one else.

we are after dann, and other average uk based players and for me thats crazy, the prices for these yped up english players are just shocking…

if liverpool line up like this then fine but if not then no way,, no way.

    REINA
    JOHNSON CARRAGHER SAKHO CISSOHKO
    RAUL LUCUS GERRARD
    SUAREZ KUYT MATA
