Liverpool legend Alan Kennedy believes the future is looking bright for LFC. Talking to the Daily Star, he said:

“The future is looking good. The balance and the age of the team is great. Liverpool have the top keeper in the Premier League in Pepe Reina. The young full-backs are potentially going to be there quite a while. Kenny might look to strengthen the middle of the defence but I look at that team and think that’s pretty good. Liverpool are there to challenge, especially with the addition of these two latest English stars, Henderson and Carroll. Everyone looked at Andy when he was signed and thought, ‘Hang on, is he worth that much money?’. Well on the evidence of what we have seen, he’s worth every penny of the £35m and there’s more to come. Andy is a talent who could lead Liverpool and England for the next ten years. Now Jordan has come in and given Liverpool a real English feel again. It means we have a strong enough squad to handle the Premier League.”

Kennedy is particularly excited by the home-grown players coming through the ranks at Anfield:

“The best players in England and Europe will now want to come and join this elite squad. When you looked at its depth over the last couple of years, it clearly wasn’t strong enough. Now the young English kids, Flanagan, Spearing and Robinson, have been fantastic for us. Maybe under other managers they wouldn’t have been given their chance but under Kenny no problem. Liverpool now have a crop of the finest of English talent and the latest two, Andy and Jordan, chose this club to join and learn from the master. They are going to get the finest education from Kenny and Steve Clarke. Their game can only improve but they are already two youngsters quite capable of doing a job for Liverpool. The future is English and the future is looking good.”

This week it is LFC WAG Clio Zenden!
