The Independent is reporting that Liverpool have had a £8million bid turned down by Ipswich Town to buy striker Connor Wickham. The youngster was given a new contract in April which extends his deal until 2014 and has a minimum fee release clause of £15million. Ipswich are prepared to let the player go for £10million though and this is attracting the Reds, according to the paper, because they were prepared to pay that amount in January. Plans for the move were scuppered though after Fernando Torres demanded a move and all focus was put into finding his replacement. Spurs were also interested in January, and were said to have offered £5m plus a loan back option, but it seems the Reds are now front runners for the 6ft 3 18 year old’s signature.

This week it is LFC WAG Michela Quattrociocche!

  • is like kenny has becomes confused about who to signed these season when he knows that [DANNY PACHECO]is a very good and brilliant player that is coming up and other young ones are also coming up from the accademy.

My Boss, is a ipswich town season ticket holder and he has joked that if we up the offer to around 10 mill then we are getting taken to the cleaners!!!!.

I must say i really will be not interested at all in Lfc if they buy adam, henderson, wickham, dann etc and all the rest of the crap english players that we have been linked with, my time is coming to the end, we are so loyal us LFC fans, spend money on my team, going form london to watch them and all this transfer rubbish each year and not getting in the players that are of more class.

Had enough now of my beloved LFC, but they need to spend and soend better on more intrenational proven younger players like mata, banega, cissokho, vargas, navas, javi martinez and etc.

pissing english crap at liverpool – no thanks

and whos to say we wont sign some from your list aswell, what i do no is if kenny wants them then there is a reason he wants them and what ever the price that is good enough for me

Sam – if you are fickle enough to ‘be not interested at all in LFC’ if they buy the players we are linked to, then go ahead ….. you won;t be missed

you sound like an arsenal fan. being ‘proven’ in another country is better than being proven here ? why ? Kenny has shown he will buy ‘quality’ players like Suarez, and would sign Bojan. What makes you think the players you list will be any good in the EPL ? Remember Morientes ?

    • redtrev73 says:

Wow, not even going to engage with your ridiculous arguments ‘sam’…you should nip down the east lancs road and join up with some other clueless, fickle types and ‘support’ the mancs. No, please, go ahead.

Im telling you now that Pacheco will not get any place in our squad, now even though he’s been highly rated by the media yet 3 managers in Rafa, Roy and now Kenny have chosen not to use him. Surely that says something about the lads attitude or something possibly financially. Either way this young lad for £10million is a steal and a much better avenue to go down.

  • M. says:

Pacheco is too small for EPL, probably that’s why the Managers didn’t risk him. He had a great Championship season though. I think he ‘ll move back to Spain in mid table teams, play few season regularly & then finally ‘ll try to move to a top La Leagua team or even back to EPL.

Suso is more likely to stay for long for his physical advantages.

    Sam, evidently a teenager.
We need an English quota of players and players we could buy and make a profit from if they fail to make their way here at liverpool. The arguments against english players and pro foreign players are making me crazy. Football is more than a game on paper. Foreign players have to adapt to our game and do so at differing speeds and sometimes never, because of the weather, culture, team mates etc. British kids know the liverpool mentality of what it stands for and also those somewhat proven in the premiership have the potential when surrounded by better players to excel. Add to them the odd suarez, if a deal can be established with the right target, when not playing champions league football, and we have the potential to cause an upset. Trust King Kenny you young ones. He is not a legend by accident F.F.S
