Despite his ineptness, he deserves a dignified departure

The Daily Telegraph believe that Liverpool left back Paul Konchesky is on the verge of completing a move to Leicester City for a reported £1.5million. He is expected to fly out to Sweden to join up with Sven-Goran Eriksson’s side tonight for a medical. Although the Reds will have to take a loss on the player, I think most would agree it will be good for us to get him off our books.

Many will slate Paul for being a poor full back, and not worthy of playing for a club the size of Liverpool, and although these criticisms maybe true, it must be said the 30 year old never complained and was the consummate professional despite the stick he had to receive both for his poor performances and for the comments by his mother.

Konchesky cannot be ridiculed purely because of the comments of his mother though, and I would like to say good luck to Paul if he does depart the club soon. He was never going to turn down a move to a club like Liverpool, especially late on in his career, and the blame must be put squarely on Roy Hodgson rather than on Konchesky’s shoulders for bringing him to the club.

It is not Paul’s fault he didn’t have the quality necessary to play at the level demanded of every Reds player and hopefully he will find his level again back in the Championship, although I still think he scan play at a lower Premier League club. In any case he will probably get promoted with Leicester next campaign anyway considering the amount that Sven is spending.

Actually, ineptness and ineptitude are both correct and mean (apparently) exactly the same thing.

    good luck, goodbye, good riddance!

On your bike you wast of space.

Jog on konchesky! You are up there with torben piechnik and nicky tanner.

He may never have complained but his mum did enough for both of them. Goodbye failure.

  • Damo says:

Despite the ineptitude of your headline, I agree with your poorly phrased, badly expressed sentiment

Good article, the person to blame is hodgson not konchesky,he didn’t ask to be at liverpool.

  • Danny says:

The word is ‘ineptitude’, you moron!

    • If you read ‘A Season on the Brink’ by Guillem Balague – He explains how Rafa reorganised the entire Liverpool side in the ‘Gerrard cup final’ to deal with the threat of Paul Konchesky (who scored anyway). For me, this was proof that Rafa had lost the plot.

Make of it what you will, but Hodgson wasn’t the only one who rated Mr. Konchesky highly. Rafa was actually afraid of him! Glad he’s gone, but to slag him for his mothers comments is unfair. He always gave 100% for us, even with ‘fans’ hurling abuse at him. He is however, a poor player who struggled in the Championship with Forest last year.

Give him a break. To me, Mascherano is a bigger disgrace than this man will ever be. Save your abuse for the likes of him. Good luck to Konchesky at Leicester (Fingers crossed that his mother likes people from Leicester!).

      p.s – In David’s defence. ‘Ineptness’ is a word.

The adjective (or adnoun) ‘inept’ describes when a person, or group of persons display incompetence in a role – or prove hey are unfit for purpose eg. ‘he is inept’, or ‘those politicians are inept’.

Ineptness is a descriptive adnoun used to describe when a specified noun is possessive of such traits, our noun in this case being Paul Konchesky. For example – ‘despite his ineptness, he deserved a dignified departure’.

The adjective (or adnoun) ‘silly’ describes when a person, or group of persons, is acting in a foolish, absurd or feeble-minded manner.

Silliness is a descriptive adnoun used to describe when a specified noun is possessive of such traits, our noun in this case being Danny. For example – ‘Despite his silliness, Danny deserves a dignified response’.

Everyone’s a critic these days. Moron is harsh. No need for that.

  • Ace says:

    ineptness is also correct folks.

both variants describe his performances pretty well and i totally agree that a dignified departure is in order.

  • obysuarez says:

gud bye,gud luck 2 you.The success of liverpool will be wit u .

  • digital says:

    In ept he chewed.

  • David says:

Shame on the so called fans getting personal at Konchesky (Imran, Bill, King Kenny etc). Yes he wasn’t up to the standard required for a club of LFCs stature pushing for a top four spot, but has shown he is a decent Premier League player throughout his career so clearly not inept.

Support your club, support the players, stop moaning.

P.S. As many people have already pointed out Ineptness is not a word and never has been to my knowledge.

  • Gerrardious says:

At least he was on the pitch long enough for up to confirm how inadequate he is. I dont know about u guys but I’ld rather take a decent Premiership-proven leftback like him as backup than A technically gifted Brazilian who gets injured as often as he eats.
    just sayin…

    • zahid says:

Insua doesn’t tho and he did well in Rafa’s last season came up with quite a few assists god only knows why Roy let him go on loan because he’s way better then Konchavski
