Liverpool legend Ian Rush believes Andy Carroll will be a success at Liverpool, he told Liverpoolfc.tv:
“The potential is fantastic. Andy came to us with injuries last season, but in any case your first spell at a club like Liverpool is always an adjustment. People forget that I struggled a bit in my first season. But I’ve no doubt it will come right for him – and quickly, too.”
Rush believes the partnership between Carroll and Luis Suarez has massive potential:
“I think if they can gel, which they should be able to, the partnership between Carroll and Suarez could be a really big thing,” he said. It doesn’t matter that they are from different backgrounds. Actually, Kenny and I didn’t speak much off the pitch. I talk to him far more now than I ever did when we were playing together. We just fitted in because we had different skills. I had speed and could finish chances, and he had the most amazing football brain. I’ve watched Andy getting his fitness up to standard on the club’s Far East tour and when Suarez gets back from international duty and the two start training together, I’m sure they’ll build up a partnership.”

Suarez is truly world class and could form a partnership with anybody. However to get the best out of him, a more mobile partner would be ideal. Carroll is rather cumbersome and could hinder Suarez. Still with Suarez in the team even Downing might look reasonable.
Suarez is undoubtedly a good player but so is Carroll. s Rushie said, the guy was injured when we got him and he hasn’t had much of a chance…..and lets face it, we didn’t sign him for his pace.
Suarez will make a good foil for Carroll but we always need a third quality striker to complement them both.
What kind of a joke is this,At 35 million and still need to be babysit by suarez,Used your brain to play football instead of only using your bady,What a waste of money.
Carroll will be a target man while suarez come from behind. I believe they have all the qualities to be great partner on the pitch. Dont stop believing
