FABIO Borini has flown into Liverpool to undergo a medical after the Reds agreed a fee with Serie A side Roma.
The 21-year old Italian striker will also discuss personal terms whilst on Merseyside after both clubs finally agreed on an £11 million deal which will see the player link up with manager Brendan Rodgers once more.
His signing had widely been expected to be concluded by the weekend, after Rodgers announced a deal could be sealed by the week’s end at the club’s press conference on Monday.
Roma’s sporting director Walter Sabatini also confirmed that Liverpool were definitely interested in signing Borini, as did the player’s agent, Marco De Marchi.
The deal offers Roma a swift profit on their investment in the young striker, after securing the outstanding 50% of his contract outright from Parma last month, for around £3.8 million.
Rodgers sees it as something of a coup for the Reds, with Borini considered the rising star of Italian football, after a fine first season in Serie A concluded with his inclusion in the national squad for Euro 2012.
Rodgers knows the 21-year old well, after first coaching him in the Chelsea youth team, and then taking him on loan at Swansea – where he had a dramatic impact by helping them win promotion.

Even if it is £11m it represents very good value for a talented player. If he was English it would be more like £25m. I hope Dempsey is next. Two players who know where the goal is 🙂
Gaston ramirez please
Elias i absoluetly agreed wi u…Ramirez..we also need like liorentes….
Great – next Ramirez. Ramirez. Ramirez.
Pls sign GASTON RAMIREZ…… BR is doing the right job…..
we want gaston we wont get him he will only sign players who he has managed and the yank owners want dempsey dont expect anything huge from our tranfers .he will have to get rid off players first bring some in . Our wide men were sh** last year jay spearing and no replacement for stevie g but jonjo will be good there. when glen johnson got injured hard to replace and lucas need cover for him . Once again spearing not it. coates must be given more chance this year in place of carra not getting younger .
Not enough is know about this boy .. £11m seems like a hell of a lot for player untested in the Prem’. Hopefully we are not starring down the barrel of a Crespo, Veron that looks good in Italy but doesn’t produce in Prem’. Sigurdsson at £7m looking like a steal now ..
Welcome Fabio!!!! We hope you begin to have a long lasting career on Anfield Road. Clint should be next then hopefully another striker. Give Sterling more playing time and we will challenge for that # 4 spot and in 2 years time then title. I sense something special brewing for the Reds!!! See you in Boston my beloved Reds.
YNWA
