MUCH has been made recently about the players that Liverpool are linked with bringing to Anfield but apart from Andy Carroll, one doesn’t hear as much in terms of players leaving the club on a permanent basis.
Perhaps the most prolific name that appears in question in that of Luis Suarez.
No one can question the ability Suarez has shown and what he means to the squad. He has been Liverpool’s best player this season and at times, was the only thing going right for the club. It would be a massive blow if Liverpool were to lose him this off season.
Rumours have been rife linking Suarez to a plethora of big name clubs across Europe. Most writers and analysts point to Liverpool’s lack of European football as the reason for Suarez’s potential departure. It seems like every time an article is written discussing a possible departure another immediately arrives detailing the Uruguayan’s love for Liverpool and his desire to stay.
To be honest no one knows what the player desires except for the player himself. He has stated his love for the city he calls home and the team he represents but he has also appeared frustrated at times at having to carry the load. Although Suarez would warrant a massive transfer fee his value for Liverpool cannot be priced.

FSG and company need to do everything in their power to hold on to the player this summer – despite his latest indiscretion. Seeing as a top-four finish is out of bounds for this season, management can best serve their cause by showing Suarez they’re serious about going forward.
The early weeks of the upcoming transfer window will be telling as to the direction Liverpool are heading in. Not only will it serve as an example to the fans but it will also show Luis Suarez if the club are going to make a full, concerted effort at becoming winners.
These early weeks and the ways in which Liverpool approach potential transfers will send a message to Suarez. Either he will feel comfortable that Liverpool are doing everything they can to win or he will feel like the urgency is not there and choose to pack up shop.
For the sake of the club I hope management does enough to persuade Suarez that his interests are best served by staying at Anfield. Players such as Suarez are few and far between and he is the exact sort of player that a manager can build a team around.

If this 10 match ban is not shortened I think he will pack his bags and leave and I wouldn’t blame him either. He is been hounded over and over again by the gutter press and the FA have been totally unfair in it’s treatment of him. He wasn’t charged with racism and in my opinion wasn’t trying to be either. Agreed the last incident cannot be defended but length of the ban is way off mark, people have done far worse and got far less. Yes he used to dive a lot but if anyone takes time to notice it is far less now than when he arrived, he is an intense player and his frustration got the better of him, but I doubt he meant to harm otherwise you would have seen bit marks on the arm
Why would he want to stay ? For another mid table campaign under Rodgers ?
