The signings that will keep Liverpool going forward?

Liverpool target AjaxLIVERPOOL FC finished the season fourth in terms of goals scored – a tremendous achievement considering where we finished in the league table.

That though is due to the many drawn games where we could and should have won, if only we had that extra goal scorer.

Now Brendan Rodgers has the opportunity to really go after bargain buys to bolster his attack and provide much needed relief for Suarez who has shouldered the bulk of the goal scoring burden for most of the season.

In fact, there is not much wrong now with our strikers taking their goals. However, if we are to be serious contenders we must get our midfielders scoring on a regular basis.

Brendan Rogers has expressed his desire to strengthen his squad in the summer, and needless to say there are countless speculations as to who will be coming in and going out.

Of all the attacking players being linked to Liverpool FC, there are three worth mentioning.

Cristian Tello of Barcelona: the Spanish Under-21 international, who really has only made a handful of appearances, mainly as a substitute for Tito Villanova’s side, must be growing in frustration and certainly seems to be an ideal and suitable candidate. He has tremendous skills and can finish expertly as well and will fit into Brendan Rodgers’ side easily.

Secondly, Hatem Ben Arfa. While a few years older at 26 , is probably the more realistic option of the two, with the probability of Newcastle United taking Andy Carroll back to St. James’ Park, that could be the perfect opportunity to do a deal – cash plus player, providing Carroll decides he wants to quit West Ham United.

In addition, there has been claims that Ben Arfa is not totally committed to Newcastle United, and although the forward has since denied those allegations, one can’t help but think that a player of his calibre would have aspirations of playing for a bigger and more ambitious club than Newcastle United., Also with Rodgers philosophy and style of play, he would be the perfect fit for Liverpool.

This French international, is blessed with tremendous skills that can single-handedly breakdown any defence and Liverpool would be a much stronger unit with either of these two players applying their trade at Anfield.

Thirdly, Liverpool FC is in need of a big signing this summer to get the excitement back into the squad. Christian Eriksen in my opinion is the man to do this, as his Danish compatriot Daniel Agger suggested, he would be a perfect fit for Liverpool.

While in my opinion, no one can replace Steven Gerrard, the signing of a player with the ability and pedigree such as Eriksen would signal the intent of Fenway Sports Group and Liverpool FC and would certainly enhance the confidence of the players around him. In addition, Eriksen needless to say, has all the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.

However, it has been reported that the player has become quite frustrated by the slow pace at which Liverpool FC has been moving towards securing his signature. And while the player has expressed his desire to come to Liverpool in the past, he has also expressed his willingness of playing in Germany with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

Currently, it’s reported that a price tag of around £15 million has been placed on the player – it won’t be long before he is taken off the market.

I have been a Liverpool F.C supporter since the mid 80's, I fell in love with this club when I saw the likes of Ian Rush and John Barnes play. I hold a Law degree from the University of London ,and a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of the West Indies.

1 Keeper to replace Reina (if he goes that is). 1 good central defender =£10m max. for example Uchida or one free e.g. Kolo Touré. 1 left back to challenge Enrique (a very good one plays for Lille, and he is young-Digne) and one winger (who can do both sides-Tello). Get Andy Caroll back for f…ks sake, we need to start battering teams with long balls sometimes and go 4-4-2, 4-2-4 or 3-5-2 if we want to be in top four. That’s about in our budget…Additionally, I am considering that Kelly and Wisdom to be in for the defenders places with Agger, Skrtel and Coates; we have Ibe and Sterling and Suso to play the wings/right&left midfield; then in attack Coutinho, Sturridge, Suarez, Caroll and Borini. This is a pretty decent side with enough experience in midfield with the likes of Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Allen. Letting Downing go would leave a hole if the replacing winger cannot track back and cover Johnson when needed.

For the season my starting eleven would be a 4-2-3-1: Reina (GK), Johnson (RB), Skrtel (CB), Agger (CB), Enrique (LB), Lucas (DM), Gerrard (AM), Coutinho(LW), Henderson (DM), Tello (RW)?, Suarez.

Even the signings of messi ronaldo cavani and bale couldn’t make Rodgers look like a good manager

These are the players that we could get in this summer for relatively cheap price that would take us forward: But owners would need to spend £70-£100M

1:GK: M Vorm(29) Of Swansea for £2-£4M to compete with A Mccarthy for No 1
2:GK: A Mccarthy(23) Of Reading for £5-£8M to compete with M Vorm for No 1
3:CB: A Pearce(24) Of Reading on free transfer to compete with Agger and Skrtel
4:CB: K Papadopulous(21) Of Schalke for £10-£12M to compete with Skrtel
5: DM: E Capoue(24) Of Toulouse for £5-£9M to compete with Lucas
6:CM: De Guzman (25) Of Villareal to compete with Allen, Gerrard and Henderson.
7: LW / LWF: D Capel(25) Of Sporting Lisbon/ Clube De Portugal for £4-£6M to compete with Sterling
8: RW / RWF: C Tello(21) Of Barcelona should be brought to club in swap deal with P Reina.
9: FD: C Benteke(21) Of A Villa for £16-£20M to compete with Sturridge and Suarez.

These 9 players would change whole dimension of squad and get us back challenging Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham for the top 3-4 position in the premier league year in and Year out again

Aly Cissokho – competition for Enrique and adds power across the back, this guy has done well at Valencia this year and has been a good player for years and still getting better and still young enough, we need better players in each position and right now for the money you will not get a better left back – left wing back, could be brought for only 7 mill.

Tello – great young player that needs man management, what a future this kid could have and is still only 21 years of age, can play all across the front line and with pace and power too. this kid could be the same deal as young Coutinho, needs a bit of confidence put into him and what a player we could have, could be brought for around 9 mill
