The signings that will keep Liverpool going forward?

Liverpool target AjaxLIVERPOOL FC finished the season fourth in terms of goals scored – a tremendous achievement considering where we finished in the league table.

That though is due to the many drawn games where we could and should have won, if only we had that extra goal scorer.

Now Brendan Rodgers has the opportunity to really go after bargain buys to bolster his attack and provide much needed relief for Suarez who has shouldered the bulk of the goal scoring burden for most of the season.

In fact, there is not much wrong now with our strikers taking their goals. However, if we are to be serious contenders we must get our midfielders scoring on a regular basis.

Brendan Rogers has expressed his desire to strengthen his squad in the summer, and needless to say there are countless speculations as to who will be coming in and going out.

Of all the attacking players being linked to Liverpool FC, there are three worth mentioning.

Cristian Tello of Barcelona: the Spanish Under-21 international, who really has only made a handful of appearances, mainly as a substitute for Tito Villanova’s side, must be growing in frustration and certainly seems to be an ideal and suitable candidate. He has tremendous skills and can finish expertly as well and will fit into Brendan Rodgers’ side easily.

Secondly, Hatem Ben Arfa. While a few years older at 26 , is probably the more realistic option of the two, with the probability of Newcastle United taking Andy Carroll back to St. James’ Park, that could be the perfect opportunity to do a deal – cash plus player, providing Carroll decides he wants to quit West Ham United.

In addition, there has been claims that Ben Arfa is not totally committed to Newcastle United, and although the forward has since denied those allegations, one can’t help but think that a player of his calibre would have aspirations of playing for a bigger and more ambitious club than Newcastle United., Also with Rodgers philosophy and style of play, he would be the perfect fit for Liverpool.

This French international, is blessed with tremendous skills that can single-handedly breakdown any defence and Liverpool would be a much stronger unit with either of these two players applying their trade at Anfield.

Thirdly, Liverpool FC is in need of a big signing this summer to get the excitement back into the squad. Christian Eriksen in my opinion is the man to do this, as his Danish compatriot Daniel Agger suggested, he would be a perfect fit for Liverpool.

While in my opinion, no one can replace Steven Gerrard, the signing of a player with the ability and pedigree such as Eriksen would signal the intent of Fenway Sports Group and Liverpool FC and would certainly enhance the confidence of the players around him. In addition, Eriksen needless to say, has all the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.

However, it has been reported that the player has become quite frustrated by the slow pace at which Liverpool FC has been moving towards securing his signature. And while the player has expressed his desire to come to Liverpool in the past, he has also expressed his willingness of playing in Germany with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.

Currently, it’s reported that a price tag of around £15 million has been placed on the player – it won’t be long before he is taken off the market.

I have been a Liverpool F.C supporter since the mid 80's, I fell in love with this club when I saw the likes of Ian Rush and John Barnes play. I hold a Law degree from the University of London ,and a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of the West Indies.

To contend for top4 pose, then we need these players: christian tello, christian erikson, kelvin gamiero, hartem ben arfa, ashley williams & kyrgiakos papadopuluos. Am sure when done, if not the epl, a top4 spot and a trophy.

Christian Tello and Eriksson are got to the best signing of the new season for me…not Artem ben afar, He’s too injury prone, besides I don’t see him in a LFC shirt sometimes soon

  • Patrick says:

Ben Arfa is a wonderful player but is to often injured for my liking.

First of all, i would like the captain’s armband be given to luis suarez and dat will make him to stay wit us. Back to the topic, the three of them make sense including papa and aspas then we’re good to go

  • Samuelson says:

We need a goalkepper first before tello, erikson, and two more.

  • Ibrahim says:

I think we will get most 3 to 4 players this summer, which will countered somewhat with selling players. If we can get Kyriakos Papadapolus, Christien Eriksen, and Son Heung Min and Kesiuke Honda (Honda on Bosman), we can go far next season; and the later two signings will help profile and profit gain in the far east, plus they are decent players.

Ben Arfa has made 32 starts in the Premier League in the past two seasons. Not much bang for your buck.

  • Okoye Augustine says:

Liverpool will be a geniue contender 4 top if they sign these players: Cristian Tello, Diego Capel, Cristian Eriksen, Papadopolous, Ilori, Begovic and Lucas Digne

  • lfc fan says:

With upcoming intl freindlies & confidration cup, their long spell injuries to lfc midfielders like Gerad and countino whom we currently depend on. What would if we loose both with no tangible replacements. Gerrad at his age played almost all matchs in all competation thus putting him at risk. There is need to strengthen midfield.

  • CHUKWUEMEKA says:

I keep wondaring y some fans keeping clamouring 4 lfc to buy any names linkd to us. CRISTIAN TELLO¿? sorry too arrogant nd wnt fit into lfc. so far BR has only achieved one thing and that is proving to me dat sturidge is better and less selfish than i think he is. we need diame to help lucas in midfied or diame ± an attacking minded holding midfielder to displace lucas. sign or try signing martinez of porto 20 or 25million before his prize goes above that. that would increase d squad confidence nd make it attractive as long as we dont 4get to offload d deadwoods nd bringing in begovic as challenge for reina. reina is beta dan dem all, just dat he lacks competition nd it makes him dull nd poor.

  • kav says:

Erikssen is not coming, it’s time to forget about that one .

Ben Arfa is injury prone , we should not touch that one

With no European football and a unproven manager , it’s extremely unlikely we will sign any top players this summer

  • Young maxi says:

    BR pls sing eriksen

  • Festus oluwasegun says:

Dis are d rite signing for lfc kevin strootma or victor wayama, christian erickson or henrikh mhykitaryan of donesk, papadopoulos, aspas or jackson matinez nd begovic of stoke city or guilamon ochia of ajacio

  • stevie says:

Rogders has a limited tramsfer fund. How about mccarthy, lescott, ince and hooper? Probably get the lot for £20m. Hooper would be a bargain. Just because he played for scunthorpe doesn’t mean he is rubbish. Stop getting carried away with foreign footballers with fancy names. Plenty of talent here if you’re canny

  • cheezy says:
