Liverpool FCThe Metro understands Liverpool striker Fabio Borini has distanced himself from a move back to Italy and says that other Italian clubs have missed their chance if they wanted to sign him – because he is happy at Liverpool and has no thought of moving.

The 21 year old, who netted the decisive goal against Holland to send Italy into the final of the Under 21 European Championship, only arrived at Anfield from Roma in July 2012 in a £10.5 million deal and has suffered a poor season as he was plagued with injuries.

Borini’s most recent injury was a dislocated shoulder in February which left him rolling on the Anfield turf screaming in agony, and for many that seemed to be the end of his season, though Borini did manage another four appearances before the end.

The Italian has only scored one solitary goal in his thirteen Premiership appearances for the club, though despite this, and the possibility of a deal for Armenian youngster Henrikh Mkhitaryan, he is adamant that he is happy at Liverpool and has no intentions to leave the club.

He said of the situation: “Am I looking to move abroad? People need to think more about my situation. In Italy people give more time to foreigners than they do to youngsters. I feel really good in England.”

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.
