LFC La LigaLIVERPOOL FC have confirmed that they have signed youngster Luis Alberto from Sevilla, thus finally concluded a long term deal to bring him to Anfield.

Alberto made his name at Sevilla, rising through the ranks before going on loan at Barcelona B, where he scored an impressive 11 goals and also garnered 17 assists. Barcelona had an option to sign Alberto permanently for around €3 million but they decided against this, leaving the door open for Liverpool to make their approach.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers said: “We are all delighted that Luis has decided to join Liverpool, he has the correct footballing profile and mentality to be a Liverpool player.

“I look forward to working with him to develop his talent and he joins a group of young exciting players at our club.”

Alberto also added: “I feel very excited, I’ve never felt so excited before but I’m very happy. I think I am the happiest man on earth.

“I have come here to enjoy moments with the supporters – and I know the supporters will help me to never walk alone. I hope that between us all we can make this club one of the greatest in the world, once again.”

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.

Don’t know why he has gone and bought mignolet unless he means to sell reina but so far pretty happy with the business that has been done, hopefully we can get in one of either mkhitaryian or eriksen in and one of either the Greek or alderwierald… Hopefully these new signings won’t diminish the playing time of sterling an co either, still need to offload a few in my opinion but its easier said then done

Luis Alberto a good addition to our midfeild. Said to be similar to Xavi or Iniesta. Really hope LFC wont let Mkhitaryan slip to elsewhere. He is the kind of player Liverpool need to get back to CL. It will be exciting to watch Liverpool attack next season. Suarez will benefit immensely if he stays.
