The perfect time to sign perfect players for LFC

LFC playersNO European football on offer at one of Europe’s greatest clubs. Not likely in the bookies eyes (or any rational human being’s either) to win the league or even challenge.

A new era has dawned, one of not paying over the odds for transfers and to agents.

If reports are to be believed then no one gets crazy wages and everyone has a note worthy performance related aspect to their pay packet. Do well and earn your money at Liverpool FC or go elsewhere.

The ‘star’ striker is walking out the door and media interest is at a comparative all time low. As long as Suarez doesn’t do something else as mad as a box of frogs the media will not be talking about LFC. We’re not being tipped for anything, not winning the league or relegation…it’s relatively quiet on all fronts.

The stage is set to attract real football players. No invites to mercenaries who leave their home town clubs early for the big pay day. No knock on the door for players who feel they’ve only got a few years left in the tank to pile on the pounds and pence.

The time is like it once was when the likes of Sami Hyypia turned down being in the Champions League with a smaller club just to play for LFC. The stage is set for men with such foresight to come, play and build their own records and make their own history. Brendan Rodgers has a clear vision of his type of player and the style of football. The expectations and so pressures are at an all time low thanks to successive disappointments. The football itself is attacking and has the recipe for success.

The time is right to find players who sit out of the spot light, players who can come in and grasp the opportunity to play for the most successful club in British history. Liverpool FC is Europe’s sleeping giant. The owners have woken up and now have a plan. The scouting system is all set up. The manager has bedded in. His style has been imprinted on his team.

The opportunity to be a Liverpool FC player and all that goes with being at one of the world’s most iconic clubs is there for the right players. All the tools a real footballer needs to succeed are there with sky being the limit. A huge fan base to mobilize waits to be reinvigorated and shake off the cloud of negativity that has engulfed us all.

Liverpool FC need to stick to their new found principles and will miss out on the talented players who are prepared to take the higher wages of other clubs and not get on the pitch. Those who value instant guaranteed success at the expense of actually playing football every week will not sign for us – amen! Those with self belief and who want to make their name will come and do well.

The time is right to be positive. Great things start now.

An armchair fan who loves the stadium experience but likes the bread and butter of replays, moronic pundits, a drink in a pub atmosphere. LFC is my religion.

Common sense is missing from football but the situation is always complicated so I endeavour to give opinion and encourage discussion and thought about LFC.

Well said and agree 100%, this is an opportunity we can’t let slip…………….YNWA!!!

    • VikasDhingra says:

Cheers, hope we can enjoy the fact we are moving forward and at last have some stability.

  • Bill says:

I just Hope we can persuade Luis to stay.

    • VikasDhingra says:

Stay great. Go, great with wise investment. We need to make the right long term decisions much more often as a club.

  • steve says:

    great article, good times ahead

  • Andy says:

Excellent article, totally agree. Rogers made some great signings in January and is following the same principles now. Really excited about seeing Aspas linking up with Coutinho and Sturridge. We need more of the same…… the future is bright . YNWA

    • VikasDhingra says:

Thanks. How do you feel about the £10 mil keeper we’re about to buy?

      • Erin says:

How to feel about it? Why isn’t barca signing mignolet? Rogers will change keeper, our entire defense and strikeforce. Too many changes and the team will take months to settle. I feared this would happen. All BR needed to do is sell Suarez and replace him with 3 players to cover his contribution . Instead, he is going for mediocre players .

  • mick says:

Hope the hype around myrkothainen is true. Another coutinho type. Also aspos looks to have something. With these two the attack really looking good. Please let andy carroll sign for west ham. We need that money.

    Nice article, always Liverpool..ynwa comeon!!

  • callum says:

Overly optimistic . We are not going anywhere signing second rate players while our rivals buy the best. It simply doesnt work like that.

About time I read an article that actually makes sense, rather than some *with a keyboard calling himself a journo because he can string words together. Now for the football part, sell saurez (there I said it) build a squad not a one man team. The sleeping giant that is LFC is slowly stirring, I for one will be there when she wakes!

Great read mate nice one really captured how I also feel too. Watching how we played since the additions of Coutinho & Sturridge just confirmed to me Rodgers given the backing & time can create a formidable team here. He has a knack as a manager to get the best out of players an attribute all the best managers have, the turn around in players like Hendo,Downing,Enrique is clear evidence of this.

For far to long we have been too reliant on 2 players to win games like Gerrard,Torres & then Gerrard,Suarez looking at our team as it stands now we have Gerrard,Suarez,Coutinho,Sturridge who have that ability to win games or be game changers. I would argue young Hendo has been showing lately he has the potential to join that group, ive been very impressed with his performances of late linking well with forwards, his passing & work rate & chipping in with goals too is exactly what makes me feel he has a big future here.

New additions so far a very wise move adding Toure in my opinion he is a known leader has a winning mentality & history of winning if not a 1st team starter he can be a huge impact in training & in the dressing room etc. Aspas I dont know much about but listening to people involved in spanish football it sounds like we have got a very good team player with a great work ethic & has an eye for goal also good at bringing others into the game. If we add 1 more quality attacking mid in like Mkhitaryan & keep Suarez then we have loads of options in the attacking sense loads of compitition for places something we havent had for a long time.

Cant wait for pre season games etc to start hopefully we will have our business done by then ready to gel the new players into the team & hopefully we can get off to a really strong start this season,if we do who knows where we will finish in the league. Nothing is impossible in football & with all the changes at the other top clubs in the league you just never know what next season will bring. The title wont be easy but when is a title easy? I for one im quietly comfident of causing a bit of an upset given we get off to a good start.

    Good article and well said!

  • Geoff Price says:

Good article but do not entirely agree with all you said. Regarding the manager I have very little confidence in his style of play, the team in my opinion and ex Liverpool players is lacking in passion and steel. As our greatest ever manager once said build the team down the middle , then you can slot the rest in. Sure we need quality, but I want more than that we need players who will sweat blood and tears for that jersey. Only then will wee be able to complete, then our once great fans will wake from their slumber, and put fear into all of teams that visit our beloved LFC. I am from the old school of supporters with strict principals that were imprinted into my soul by the great man himself, Bill Shankly.

    Love this article!

From your lips to God’s ears…

  • Brigadier says:

23 year old Dejan Lovren to Southampton while we sign 32 year old fat-ass has-been Kolo Toure. Great work Brenda and FSG!

    • stevieG says:

Yes . FSG are simply being cheap , and unambitious

    • VikasDhingra says:

Kolo, ‘fat ass’ that’s an interesting way to describe a brilliant defender who’s win the perm with 2 different clubs. Lets see how the two men compare next season.

      • Brigadier says:

So why did he take slimming pills and get banned for drugs? Do you follow the game much?

  • Grant says:

This article is great i love it
    better days ahead

  • Chichi says:

Excellento! Lets pray 4 d bst next season. Ynwa!

    • VikasDhingra says:

Cheers, there’s too much doom and gloom around when we are playing good attacking, passing football.

  • Henry says:

Kolo can add experience ….thats why brendon signed him

  • Patrick says:

If Liverpool had Suarez, Coutinho, Sturridge, and Mkhitaryan on the same pitch together they could literally win any match. Exciting times for Liverpool. Even is Suarez leaves we know they’ll spend the money wisely and buy more top talents.

Aspas too looks like he’ll give premier league defenders nightmares. I watch a lot of Spanish football . £7m great deal!

  • jesse's son says:

    Ynwa! @lfc

  • stevieG says:

I’m still waiting for the real signings. What we have so far aspas toure and probably alberto are average players.

Unless we buy some top players and keep Suarez then it’s another rubbish season to come

This wave of silly optimism happens every summer , but this summer there really is less to get excited about than ever before

    • VikasDhingra says:

By average you mean unheard of? Lets see them play in a LFC shirt at least a few times before we write them off.

I like the unheard of players, they bring desire to earn a reputation and that’s how you pick up real bargains!

Your right in saying people get optimistic. I’m not saying we’re going to win the league. I’m just hopeful we’ll start the season with a better squad then we had at the end.

  • YNWA says:

If we sugn mignolet for 10mil then we’ve done the exact opposite of what you propose in your article. Shocking signing for 10mil if true.

    • VikasDhingra says:

YNWA, I will be disappointed with that signing too. Like all signings, time will tell. £10mil feels like £5mil too much to me. If we sell Pepe R (who is desperate to go) to Barca for £15mil, pay Mignolet less in wages and we proves to be as good as Pepe is now (not once was) then I, like you, will be proved wrong. Otherwise, Rodgers will be loosing a great deal of the goodwill and trust his last two signings generated! Not happy! Aspas seems to fit the bill and its early days in this transfer window.
