Suarez ChelseaTHE news has been spread far and wide across the media today that Arsenal have risked the wrath of Liverpool after putting forward a bid of £40,000,001 for Luis Suarez, meaning they have exceeded Suarez’s contractual clause of £40 million.

Arsene Wenger has already made an offer of £30 million for the Uruguayan, which was immediately knocked back by the Reds, but it was widely expected that the Gunners would return with an improved offer.

Arsenal did not disappoint, and came forward with £40 million at the table, plus an addition £1. This move triggers a clause in Suarez’s contract, as the bid is in excess of £40 million it is obligatory for Liverpool to consider the bid, and notify the player of Arsenal’s approach.

Despite this, The Reds are adamant that they will not sell the man who scored 30 goals last season.

After hearing about the deal, Liverpool owner John W Henry taking to Twitter, obviously incensed, the American Tweeted: “What do you think they’re smoking over there at the Emirates?”

Speculation has been rife about Suarez making the move away from Anfield, who, in the past few months, has revealed his unhappiness at the club and his desires to leave for Real Madrid, though no offer has been made from the Spanish giants.

Speaking about the latest development in the Suarez saga, Brendan Rodgers said:

“There’s been a lot of speculation over the course of the close season but the reality is that he’s a player who is very much valued at Liverpool. And unless there’s any sort of offer that comes in that’s anywhere near his value, there’s nothing to consider. We haven’t had that.

When enquired about what Suarez’s value actually was, Rodgers replied: “I didn’t say we would sell him. I said that every player has a value and a worth. Doesn’t mean you’ve got to sell them.”

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.

What do you mean theres nothing to consider. ….
    Are you perez in disguise???

  • allaboutanfield says:

Come on Gunners make an offer of 55 million pounds and Suarez will b yrs.

  • lemon head scouser says:

    Sound as a 40mil + pound.

  • lemon head scouser says:

I hope he stays there….. and then he starts biting Stevie G… whilst shouting racist abuse at half the team….

  • Willie says:

£40mil + £1 logically is in excess of the amount as per the suggested release clause. But the knot here is the worth of the “excess”. Certainly not £1 and lpool determines. Wenger needs to show respect and dig deeper. Afterall he is not for sale and we are in no rush sell!

Its nice having owners who wont be steam rolled into selling for a change. Its about time our club got back its teeth. Its not just the utds n chelseas that do this. Villa Everton and to our own detriment Newcastle have did exactly this. If clubs dont want to sell they shouldnt have other clubs tapping up players and taking the mickey in valuation. They know our price and to be honest if were in the right over the contract details I hope we screw them over. I realise players move etc but the sheer cheek of the bids has shown utter contempt for our club and a gross lack of respect.

Liverpool should keep the hot man

  • TUNJI says:

If he want wanted to go let him go but dont let spur hijack SODARDO from you like what mkhitaryan did.

  • allaboutanfield says:

Mark my words Suarez wil b sold @ high price.

  • Justin says:

    £55m or no deal

  • Raam says:

Demand for £55m and let Suarez go. Even if he stays,he will only be available at the end of september or early October. By than other teams might have pulled away far. With the money we can get either Soldado or Yilmaz or both. We must start the season strongly if we want to get into top four position. Cant afford to wait for someone whose heart and mind is no longer willing to play for LFC. Even if he moves to Arsenal,he still have to sit out for the same number of games. So let him go.

  • red says:

There must be ‘evolution’ just like Reina case. I expect Suarez will go to highest bidder. Can you trust BR or FSG ???

  • allaboutanfield says:

At tis point in time i don trust them.just look at reina case. I only believe in results.

  • Raam says:

This is not the case of who to believe. Like BR said, everyone has a value. When the interested party meets that value than theres nothing to discuss. So,it is all about £..and a matter of time. I dont think Arsenal or Suarez would go public if theres nothing went on behind LFC’s back.

  • Erin says:

You guys are missing the point. Arsenal are panicking. Spurs are now genuine top 4 challengers. The have strengthened their hand after finishing 1 whole point behind arsenal . Suarez means that extra 10 points that will make them challengers as opposed to another campaign which will see spurs above them. After missing on higuain, they are desperate to prove to their fans that the can compete for the best in the market!
We hold all the cards. 55 million or no deal. 40 million is a joke. Neimar, falcao, Cavani have gone for astronomical figures .
Mr Wenger wants to pay the minimum for a player he can sell next year for at least 50 million.
Time to stick to our guns and demand the player leaves on our terms!
No one is driving him out of the club. It is his own doing
    YNWA

  • Dennis says:

Ayre said categorically – SUAREZ WILL NOT BE SOLD

Rodgers said categorically – SUAREZ WILL BE A LIVERPOOL PLAYER NEXY SEASON

Now ? 50 million and he can go

AYRE & RODGERS ARE TWO LY!NG BSTARDS

  • allaboutanfield says:

Lots of propaganda going around by Liverpool management. They are trying to paint themselves as the good guy. Playing to the fans wishes. But we all know it is all about money politics. I believe Liverpool management have already decided to sell Suarez if the right place comes along. So now would the Gunners up the bid one more time for 50 million pounds ? Is Wenger willing to splash that much money on a single player who is still suspended for 6 games of the new season ?
