BrazilLIVERPOOL FC may have to re-think their transfer plans again this summer according to The Mirror.

The Reds are having to make more contingency plans in case Arsenal come back in with a bid in excess of £50 million pounds for Luis Suarez and if Tottenham Hotspur manage to beat them to the signing of Brazilian attacking midfielder Willian from Anzhi Makhachkala.

There are concerns at Anfield that if they fail to land Willian, after the failed bids for Diego Costa and Henrikh Mkhitaryan then they will have missed out on all their targets for a ‘Marquee Signing”.

For that reason Liverpool have drawn up yet more names of players and one of those is Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao.

The 24 year old Brazilian is a long time target of Tottenham Hotspur but with the London club just buying Roberto Soldada from Valencia it would appear a move for another striker would be unlikely.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is convinced Leandro Damiao has enough quality to come into the Barclays Premier League and score goals, and with the player looking to move to Europe this summer then the time could be right for the Reds to make their move.

Absolutely, for me he would be plan A, imagine him playing against Stoke, what would the final score have been, we can only speculate, but this is a red hot player, and has been the interest of most of the best teams in the World. For me, he should be plan A.

  • imran ely says:

leandro damiao is great brazilian striker. Forgetted suarez in six game and take him..

  • Leon says:

Yes agreed I think he is a plan Neva mind be it a b or c but even if we do land willian there is nothing wrong with getting him as well cause were will saurez competion be if we dnt land those two players

  • Raam says:

Just a suggestion, what if let Willian go,and bring in both L.Damiao and A.Turan. Willian alone is £30m but both LD and AT would cost around £38m. Both LD and AT are experianced and classy.

    • saahir says:

best thing i’ve heard all month!!! tha’ts a no brainer. Spending 30 mil on Willian & ends up a dud is a big risk. Turan is a dream signing especially as he is a boyhood Liverpool fan.

    • StevieG says:

      Turan wouldn’t come here

  • Leon says:

Lfc did say they have funds avavalible for class players as long as they get players in u can bring lfc back into top as and win leauge again then why not spend so much on all three players. Beta to have to much then not enough like last season lfc were short in a lot of area’s but now they looking a little beta with a chance of making it nut we need to spemnd @ least 59 milloon more for tht to happen

    • Leon says:

Buy all three lol that will make the other teams start to shake with fear like back in the days where they were unstoppable like the Barcelona’s now.

  • zacks says:

i dont knw about him, but sounded wel according to media report. Will be a nice plan A player. YNWA.

  • Gabriel says:

Please let Bredan buy Damioa or Willian before a CL club snatch them up from us.plssssssss Bredan act fast

  • rebel says:

We cannot let all the targets slip. Losing the top targets shows the inability to attract quality in the team. We need to be firm and decisive. Willian and Damiao are players of two different positioms so cannot be alternative to each other.

  • Raam says:

The window will be closed on the 2nd Sept., even if we get our targets,we should prepare for the next window early..SAF concluded Zaha’s transfer last season. So, why cant we? If Luis Muriel stays at Udinese this season, LFC should take this chance and start negotiation early. And this boy,Luciano Vietto from Club Racing. Talented, skillfull with loads of trickery. These two will be hot properties soon.

  • Clint says:

In reality cissokho will most likely be the last bit of business the reds will accomplish this window. The most important thing right now is to start the season off strong and show potential targets the club is moving in the right direction and competing for champs league places. This will make it easier to sign players such as damaio

  • Hailmary macdon says:

Please br should should finish willian bussiness before another, please sir br

  • Bomadams says:

Please sign Willian and Damiao. We can be title contenders this season. Why wait? I wish I had the money to sign these 2 guys for Liverpool. They are brilliant.

  • James russell says:

I like the comments about Turan and quite rightly said lfc fan, Damiao also looks promising and yet I have heard lots of praise concerning willian also, lets just hope the gods are with us when fate decides which one is for Liverpool. good start for the reds.

  • smith says:

if we dnt sign willian nd we loose him to spurs am sorrry to say this, we will only be paticipating but not competing for anthing. u want to let suarez move at the end dat wiill be too bad. if u guys fink we gonna make it with the likes of borini, henderson or allen then ure wrong.better singn or we move to 10th this season. we also need a backup for lucas.

  • Red2theBone says:

Yeah Damiao and Turan seems a far better option than just Willian for roughly the same kind of money. With Damiao and Turan and Suarez staying our squad is almost ready for that top 3-4 fight but we need a better midfield. Look at spirs midfield they prob have the strongest mid in PL and look at ours

  • redsamoan says:

both manchester clubs are looking really strong after the first week. and chelsea look like they’ll be contenders at the business end of the season. the only way we can compete with that bunch would be if we could sign willian, damiao and erikkson!!… i’d pretty much doubt it though… dammit

  • kamo says:

If we sign for more player(Leandro, eriksen,Diame and willian) then we have a shot at the title, fourth will be a given…somebody please tell me where all the money went

  • ALONGE OLASODE TOSIN says:

pls we need a marquee signing pls.

  • vicky says:

watching ManCity game last night really showed to me dat we don’t have the suqard depthto challenge top four. Imagine Allen marking yaya toure in middle of the park…is like where fly is hoving at caw’s back. Let alone our attacking option. PLS Br don’t look at the money spend it on this due leandro,Turan, and willian and thats the three positions we need to strengthen. YNWA

  • Raam says:

Some of us are eager for LFC to sign certain players. As all Liverpool fans so do i. But blaming FSG,Ayre or even B.Rodgers as if they dont want to spend is too harsh. Cause in Willians case, LFC have agreed to match the value they asked but if Anzhi hike it more because of other clubs are interested too, i dont think Willian is worth that much. Honestly £30m is already too high. £30m can bring in more than 2 quality players that the team needs if spent wisely.

    • StevieG says:

Oh grow up. Do you want us to stay a mediocre mid table team . Liverpools revenues are way in excess of spurs …yet they can afford big money EVERY year . And spurs are financially sound .

We will never be a top club again under Fsg
