Liverpool keeperLIVERPOOL shot stopper Simon Mignolet has declared that tiredness will not hinder the Reds’ performance in their upcoming clash against fellow Premiership giants Manchester United, a game the Belgian believes will be a ‘huge’ experience for him.

On Tuesday Liverpool achieved a 4-2 victory over Notts County in their Capital One Cup clash, though Liverpool did require an additional half an hour of extra time before finally overcoming a stubborn County side.

However, despite playing for 120 minutes, Mignolet is confident that Brendan Rodgers’ team will not be able to perform their best against David Moyes’ this weekend.

Mignolet, speaking to the club’s official website, said:

“We are professionals and we worked really hard in pre-season to get fit for the start of the season so that won’t be an issue, everybody will rest up and we have a number of days before Sunday. There is enough time to recover.

“It will be a huge experience for me against United and I always look forward to these types of games. It’s going to be a big one and we will try to win the game. We will make sure we’re ready for Sunday.

“We have to look at ourselves rather than focus on who we’re playing against.”

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.

Kolo Toure is solely missed as one of our best players but if Rodgers is agile enough to bring in Sakho before then, then three points will be in our coffers.

Our players need to learn to shut up before an important game. Let their feet do the talking.

If we don’t get the goals we will make sure we get 1 or 2 penalties ,red cards to Liverpool. The script is ready I just need to sign and agree the amount.
