TWO to join as Rodgers eyes deadline reinforcements

France PSGTHE Liverpool Echo are today reporting that Liverpool are expected to bring in at least two players before the transfer window slams shut on Monday evening.

Liverpool continue to be linked with Chelsea winger Victor Moses and PSG’s Mamadou Sakho as the need for reinforcements becomes even more pressing after the Capital Once Cup victory against Notts County at Anfield.

Brendan Rodgers’ idea to pick an almost full strength team backfired as Liverpool suffered injuries to Kolo Toure, Joe Allen and Aly Cissokho.

Not only that, but they were taken to extra time and finished the game with ten men after Toure’s injury.

Liverpool have been linked with numerous players over the past month but Moses and Sakho have now appeared to be the two most likely.

Rodgers would prefer both deals to be permanent switches but there is the real possibility that both players could arrive on season long loan deals.

Chelsea will not sanction the sale of Moses as of yet but with the apparent interest in former Liverpool target Christian Atsu of Porto, there is every possibility of Chelsea reviewing their stance on Moses.

There is far more reluctance from PSG to sell Sakho, however, with the player refusing to sign a new contract Liverpool will hope that a deal can be struck to bring the centre-back to Anfield.

With Toure out for a month and Martin Skrtel and Maritn Kelly both not at full fitness, there is a real need to sign a new centre-back.

Liverpool may want Erikson but does Erikson want Liverpool?

    • Andrew says:

We don’t want Erikson, Neil Jones said so in the ECHO likewise we don’t want Sakho also reported by Jones. When will people learn the ECHO are kept informed by the club. Erikson will go to spurs which is a indication of how little ambition remains at LFC

if we really wanted Erikson we would have bid for him by now, Sahko, if we get him will be a very good player for us and it’s possible of a swop for Chelsea’s Mata + Lukaku for Suarez!! now that would be very good news.

Got more chance of signing messi old bean.mata wouldn’t come to lfc even if we did bid for him.chances are spurs would come in and get him anyhow?? Like ever other player we apparently want…looks to me like more American owners looking to make money and not history.be lucky to squeeze top 8 once all are player are fooked and injured. No top back up.no top table. Simples.

If Liverpool can knock over Man Utd & be 3 wins from 3 games without their best player, things are already better than they have been in recent seasons.
Would have liked to land Willan or someone in this class but what would be better than winning the Premier league & have players like him
saying – “Damn, I should have gone to Liverpool”
