Liverpool targetTHE Sunday Mirror has reported that Tottenham Hotspur are planning to yet again steal more of Liverpool FC’s transfer targets.

Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld are the subject of a £15million double bid.

Both players have been linked with Liverpool constantly over the summer months and it appeared that they were holding out for move to Merseyside.

However, that now appears to be untrue with Spurs taking advantage of the Reds having to spend time dealing with the want-away Luis Suarez.

Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, 21 has rejected a host of clubs so far this summer, clubs from Italy, Germany and Russia in the hope of completing a move to his preferred club, believed to be Liverpool.

Eriksen was recently quoted as saying:

“I am prepared to wait. I will only go where my heart wants to go. I am patiently waiting what will happen in the next few weeks. But I have said before I only want to go to a club where I feel I can play at my best and which suits my style.’’

Belgian right-sided defender Toby Alderweireld, 24 has also turned down moves to Germany, Norwich City and rejected a new contract, again perhaps signalling that he was waiting for Liverpool to make their move.

None has been forthcoming as of yet and the Reds run the risk of losing both to one of their closest rivals, yet again.

he has been monitored by liverpool for a while but obv Rodgers doesnt want him prob cos has coutinho, no effort what so ever to sign him so this story is pointless

  • spursguv says:

Spurs have been linked to these players since last season. It would seem Liverpool have no mind of their own and watch to see who Spurs are interested in then try to buy em.
Were Liverpool chasing Soldado, Paulinho, Capoue or Chadli?
It’s rumoured we bid for lamella too. I guess if we sign him Liverpool will start bleating we wanted him.
Dry ya eyes boys and keep an eye on Everton. They are your closest rivals. Stop trying to fly on our coat tails ya sad has beens.

  • Omar says:

15 million for 2 CL quality players who actually wanted to come to us (a rarity these days) and we haven’t put a bid in. I am well and truly baffled. We shoot ourselves in the foot over and over again

  • Elbie says:

Liverpool should make no mistakes this time. Let Suarez go, and bring Eriksen and Alderweireld to Anfield….

  • Robbo says:

Hanging onto Spurs coat tails?? you having a laugh mate? Even at our poorest, we still manage to get silverware in the cabinet. Why would any half decent player want to go to Spurs? I dont even see you as rivals, for the last 30 years you have only ever been wannabes, no class, no trophies, no history. If you are south of Watford, muppet, start supporting Arsenal, at least they give it a go.

    • Robbo says:

Eriksen has been after a move to Lpool for 12 months now. If Rodgers thinks he is good enough I am sure he will bring him in, but somehow I dont think that is the case.
If so, let Spurs have him like they did Sigourson last year, great player he turned out to be.

Haha the history boys ur known as u used to b good in the 70s 80s but ur not anymore Everton r better than u, the league doesn’t lie , spurs r moving in the right direction , youth team is doing great they new training centre to rival anyone’s in the world easily the best in the prem , a new ground being built … Liverpool have what … Oh history that’s right

      • j75j says:

Spurs dropped a place last season! Think that’s known as moving in the wrong direction!!!

      • j75j says:

You sound like an Arsenal fan talking about everything but winning trophies!!!!! It was the 60s, 70′ and 80s!!!

    • Series says:

Liverpool have certainly lost their shine of late, Robbo,s comment of ‘Why would any half decent player want to go to Spurs?’ Either you need your eyes tested, or to stop living in the past. It must be sickening seeing the decline of late, after all those years at the top, and seeing your best striker angling for a move, and it must be very hard to accept, but the simple thing is you have to accept that Liverpool currently are a spent force.
Rodgers maybe an up and coming manager but he has no pedigree, therefore top players cant trust him, Gerrard is very near to the end of a fantastic career, what is going to happen when he retires.
Liverpool on the up…… its going to be a long time yet………….

  • Zzzzzzz says:

As much as I dislike them due to rivalry reasons, don’t you lot ever tire of recycling the same joke over and over again? Targets are there to be bought, most of them have agents and managers who tip potential buyers off to start bidding wars. And anyway, it’s not as if the whole world didn’t already know Christian Eriksen’s name. Christ, I’m a life long Arsenal fan and even I can’t deny that this is getting embarrassing. Half of your strikers were linked to the Yids first, you forgotten about Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge, Craig Bellamy, Joe Cole, Andy Carroll? And of course, don’t forget Liverpool’s late interest in Roberto Soldado which forced them to clinch the deal quicker than expected in the first place.

  • Butthurt Reds says:

So much butthurt here. Lets just remember – there is no “dibs.” You guys can like a player all you want, but your decrepit, downward-spiraling has-been of a club doesn’t draw talent these days. Tough titties, get used to it, and be thankful you are not in the championship.

Even more hilariously, you point to the distraction caused by the Suarez situation, on which the wily, greedy Spurs are capitalizing. Don’t know if you heard, but there is this fellow Gareth Bale, and he apparently might be leaving us for Real Madrid. I guess your front office is incompetent, because our front office dealt with its “distraction” by signing up Paulinho, Soldado, Chadli, and – in short order – Capoue, not to mention Eriksen and his boy Toby. So stop crying, and go watch some VHS tapes of your glory days.

  • tommy says:

Yawn . We ain’t going to get them . Ayre and Rodgers are incompetent idiots

  • Johnny says:

LFC are not interested in either player, both of them, Cris/Toby, have stated their preference for LFC, but no bids, so that means LFC are not interested. Anyway Eriksen is too similar (but not as good) as Coutinho, and Toby is not a hustle and bustle player which the EPL demands.

  • numb nuts says:

robbo, do your homework before you open your mouth about the mighty TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR. we were the 1st English team to go overseas and win a major European trophy, we were the 1st team to do win double in the 19 hundreds, we are the only team to win the f.a cup as a non league team. we were the frst team to buy overseas players, now that’s what you call history. GLORY LORY TOTTENHAM.

  • Jess says:

Why the fuss? Liverpool won’t been signing either of the players, its obvious Liverpool are going to have a zero net spend in the transfer window, so don’t worry about Spurs signing them for we won’t be bidding.

  • numb nuts says:

liverpool are boring always have been, why would any player want to play for them. they live in the past, and a bubble, still think their a good team, if liverpool are such a big club, why have they never won the premire league, they was alright when they never stopped passing the ball back to that dodgy keeper a million times once they were 1-0 up, boring dull, glum, grey, club and city.

  • Series says:

thank god we don’t have Yank owners……

  • Doo says:

I think Brendan should buy Erikson he’s brilliant and easily Ajax best player and could play as a attacking midfielder because continho favorite position is LM and both can rotate but I honestly think Brendan is confuse because he was in for makitariyan and he plays as a AM and erikson is d best alternative to him, now he is talking bout he need a LM. Erikson could com at a cut price caz he only have a yr remaining on is contract.

Now that he’s selling downing the squad is getting even smaller than it already is so I think he should try and get Benhafa fr Newcastle also.

  • 5_European_Cups says:

What are these * boys on a Liverpool site for? Obsessed much? Get a life. Oh and nice signing of Soldado Way to pay £25M for a 29 yr old. You *will always play second fiddle to Arsenal. Losers

  • Jonah says:

Brendan rodgers is a very stupid fool, only if he allows spurs to sign both of the players

  • Edwin Musekwa says:

Lfc n b r should act fast n sign eriksen n toby asap period

  • LFC says:

Brendan hurry up and get these guys in, uve made it clear to Suarez he ain’t going anywhere so let’s get cracking and get these 2 gunz in before we fail yet another campaign

  • BANKSB says:

If Liverpool are this slow when the season starts then they will be in the CHAMPIONSHIP before they know it.Players can only be bought if a bid is put in.Get rid of the driftwood and then you maybe able to turn dreams into reality before they turn into nightmares,One bad apple can lead to total decay.COYS.

  • LFC says:

And since I’m here all u Liverpool haters out there can suck my mutha fukn d/ck and we still smokin WHAT
