PortugalLIVERPOOL FC have officially confirmed the signing of Tiago Ilori, and agreed a permanent deal to sign Mamadou Sakho according to BBC Sport.

Liverpool’s summer long chase of Tiago Ilori is over with the Reds having signed the young Portuguese. Though born in London, Ilori has represented Portugal at U18, U19 and U20 level.

Ilori was at Melwood yesterday to have a medical and complete the formalities of the deal. He was also at Anfield for the game against Manchester United, along with Mamadou Sakho and Victor Moses.

The fee is believed to be £7 million and he will be joined at Anfield by fellow defender Mamadou Sakho.

Liverpool have finally reached an agreement with PSG for the permanent signing of the French international centre-back.

Sakho was also at Melwood for a medical and to complete his deal.

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers had been keen to strengthen the Liverpool back line with Martin Skrtel looking to be on his way out and Sebastien Coates injured and had looked at numerous targets.

Ilori had been on the radar for most of the summer with the reds having bids rejected by his club Sporting earlier in the window.

As for Sakho, it appears that it was either him or Papadopolos from Schalke, but with the Greek struggling for full fitness, Liverpool have moved quickly for the French international Sakho and he should make his reds debut after the international break.

With the double deal totalling £25 million pounds it is yet another sign that FSG are willing to spend when the right targets are available.

Now that Carragher and Coates replacements have been found( Llori, Sakho and Toure)

There are still 5 positions that needed strengthening to provide more class, depth, quality competition for places:

A GK: S Given Of A Villa Or A Mccarthy(23) Of Reading for £1-£7M to compete with Mignolet

A DM to compete with Lucas, M’Vila (23) Of Rubin Kazan Or B Matuidi(26) Of PSG should be brought to club for £12-£16M

A AM: I Munian(20) Of A Bilbao for £12-£18M to compete with Alberto and Coutinho

A LW / LWF: B Arfa(26) Of Newcastle Or D Capel(25) Of Sporting Clube De Portugal / Lisbon for £6-£16M to compete with IBE

FD: G Agbonglahor(25) Of A Villa for £8-£12M to compete with Sturridge and Suarez

And then we would have good class quality competition for places in every position and then there would be the injection of pace, speed in attack that club desperately need.

If these players were brought to club, then the competition for places would be as follows:

1: GK: Mignolet competing with either S Given Or A Mccarthy for the NO 1 Position
2: CB: Agger, Llori, Sakho, Skrtel and Toure competing with one another for the two centre back starting positions
3: RB: G Johnson and M Kelly competing with one another for the RB Position
4: LB: A Cissokho and J Enrique competing with one another for the LB Starting position
5: DM: Lucas competing with M’Vila for the DM role in starting 11 week in week out
6: AM: Alberto, Coutinho and Munian competing with one another for the AM Role in starting 11 week in week out
7: RW / RWFS: Moses and Sterling competing with one another.
8: LW / LWF: B Arfa competing with IBE
9: FD: Agbonglahor, Aspas, Sturridge and Suarez , four good strikers competing with one another
