FORMER Liverpool FC legend Dietmar Hamann has spoken about Reds striker Daniel Sturridge after the in form forward scored his ninth goal of the season, reports The Sports Review.
Fresh from his scoring exploits for England against Montenegro in the World Cup Qualifier at Wembley on Friday evening, Sturridge has been praised for his superb all round game.
With his 90th minute penalty, Sturridge scored his ninth goal of the season so far and Hamann believes he has all the attributes to be a top class centre forward.
“What I like about Daniel is that he can do everything,” Hamann told Liverpool’s magazine.
“His all-round game is superb. Pace is one of the major and most noticeable assets. Before he joined in January I felt the team was lacking in that department.
“His speed allows Liverpool to stretch opponents. Defenders don’t want him running in behind them so they drop off deep. That creates more room for Sturridge and his team-mates.
“Then there is his ability to beat opponents with trickery. Not too many centre-forwards can go past men or evade challenges the way he does. Technically he is very good too.”
With Sturridge linking up so well with Luis Suarez, Reds fans can look forward to watching plenty of goals flying in this season.
