fifa14_lfcFollowing on from an earlier post regarding the Unruly FIFA 14 Bloggers Tournament, won by Live4Liverpool’s very own Dave Martinez of course, we’re sure you’ve no doubt seen the new advert for EA Sports‘ behemoth-like video game.

The marketing machine giants at EA have put together the latest piece, featuring all manner of instantly recognisable players from around the globe, being pulled rapidly through a desert. Whilst sitting on sofas. Obviously…

Of the stars, most notable are Australia’s Tim Cahill, Itay’s Stefan El Shawaary, Mexico’s Javier Hernandez and Wales’ Gareth Bale – complete with hastily completed Real Madrid kit paint job (eh EA?).

The ad has been most prominent on your TV screens during the first couple of rounds of the various Champions League matches – fitting, as this year’s version of FIFA has undoubtedly been crowned football’s video game Champion when standing up to comparison with a certain other well-known football video game franchise…

Carrying the game on the cover, as well dragging the rest of EA Sports’ footballing cast in the advert, is, of course, the greatest player of the generation, Lionel Messi. We think this may be a metaphor for something – we’re just not quite sure what…

One thing we are sure of though is if you want to play just one football game this season, make sure it’s FIFA 14.

This post has been sponsored by EA, but all thoughts are my own.

Jimmy Areabi (Editor) - @fantasista1077: Huyton raised like Steven Gerrard, football has been my passion since the time I received a Kenny Dalglish badge as a toddler, and I've followed the Reds ever since – something that was easier during the 80s, when I worshipped John Barnes! I've produced work for many football media outlets & am now happy to run a major site on the club I love - providing our fans with a voice, and to bring as much information and news on the club as possible.
Having played football all my life, I aim to continue longer than Stanley Matthews...
