Sack the manager

LiverpoolHAVING given it serious thought and consideration, there is only one outcome that I can reach after analysing the performance of Brendan Rodgers, and that is that he should be sacked.

Firstly, there is the problem with beating the top opposition. He has never beaten any of the top sides except that win against Man Utd this season, which doesn’t really count as it sabotages my argument. Oh, and the win against Tottenham at home last year but that doesn’t serve my purpose so we will ignore that one too.

Secondly, there is the embarrassingly poor signings he has made since becoming manager at LFC. Let’s face it Borini, Assaidi, Allen, Sahin and Aspas have all not proven to be great successes. If we take out Sturridge, Coutinho, Toure, Sakho and Mingolet who have all been great, then his choices of signings have been awful.

Imagine our team if we remove those good players he signed, which we should because it doesn’t really count because Rodgers is a pub manager. If we didn’t have those players our team would be full of the poor signings that Rodgers has made and that is how we should measure him.

Thirdly, there is the issue of improving the team. Look at last season, we finished 7th and didn’t win any trophies and we didn’t qualify for Europe this season. The season before, we got to two finals, won a trophy and finished 8th. Rodgers took us backwards last season and if we ignore the massive upswing in results since the turn of the year when he signed the good players (that don’t count) then it is shocking.

Also if we disregard our current brilliant run of form this season taking us to second in the table and delivering consecutive 4-0 home wins, then Rodgers’ time clearly has to come to an end.

Really, we should remove all the good results we’ve had (which would put us bottom of the table) because none of them really count because good old Brendan or (Brenda – ha ha chortle) is a Championship pub manager.

And don’t get me started on FSG. How they can constantly put money into the club and make us a much more prudent and financially accountable team is astounding. They should be hung drawn and quartered for not being oil swilling oligarchs shoving fistsful of money towards top class journeymen like Tevez. I mean such reckless spending could solve all our problems and make us just like any other club happy to take money and ask no questions.

What’s even better is that if we did have these cash rich money splurging owners, then we could well end up in administration and perhaps out of business, if they removed their funding. Malaga are surely the club we should look to imitate.

The biggest problem is the style of football though. I have become used to the tactical considered football that Benitez brought us and then the mudane football that Hodgson gave us and to a much lesser extent Dalglish. For Rodgers to have made the team exciting to watch and scoring goals is surely his biggest crime. When all four goals against West Brom were worthy of being on any season highlights reel, I was sickened. The excellent football leading to Henderson’s mouthwatering pass to Luis Suarez on Saturday was the final straw.

I am therefore left with the only choice of demanding Rodgers immediate resignation. All of his achievements count for nothing especially taking us to second in the table so far this year. It has been a truly harrowing experience that hope and optimism have been brought back to Anfield and I wish him luck as he goes on to destroy another club.

Yours Sincerely,

A. Mug

I don’t think ‘skimming’ really helps your point, guys, try reading the article and, more importantly, reading between the lines.

I really can not believe anyone fell for this . It was obvious even when I read the headline it was some guys poor attempt at a joke. The days of considering Liverpool fans intelligent is definitely long gone. Anyone who believed this article , even for 1 minute is seriously lacking brains . Internet generation !!
