9 years ago today, many were excitedly awaiting a game that we hoped would signal the return of Liverpool as a real force in Europe. We packed into bars, pubs, living rooms, watching our friends and family members traipsing across barren fields towards the Ataturk Stadium for what would go down in history as the greatest European final of all time.
