Liverpool Bid For Moreno Hits a Snag

Alberto MorenoJust when Liverpool fans thought Alberto Moreno would be signing for the club today, the press announced that Liverpool’s bid had hit difficulties over the proposed transfer fee, with Sevilla reportedly now wanting to increase the amount of money the Reds have to pay up front.

It had appeared initially that the club had agreed a fee up front with add-ons to increase the fee to around £18 million. Now it seems that Sevilla are looking for more of the total fee up front, seemingly in a bid to kick off interest from other clubs by delaying the player’s transfer to Merseyside.

Unfortunately for Sevilla, there has been little interest and no other solid bids in the player so they may well end up sticking with a player that becomes increasingly unhappy at their attempts to thwart his move away, particularly as Moreno has an entire summer to dwell on the clubs’ wrangling, having not been selected in Spain’s World Cup squad.

With the Moreno bid seeming to be ‘on the rocks’, as the collective press like to say, Brendan Rodgers is believed to be planning to turn his interest to Chelsea’s Ryan Bertrand for a bid of around £7 million. The player spent last season on loan at Aston Villa but failed to suitably impress. The interest may simply be an attempt to push Sevilla into accepting the offer initially put to them but it is clear that FSG will not be forced into paying more than they feel is acceptable for a young left-back who has yet to be completely proven at the highest level.

Should Liverpool push for a deal that suits the club, or give in to Sevilla’s demands?

The Lambert to Liverpool deal proves these muppet reporters have no idea what’s going on. It’s pure guess work. Not one of them jokers saw the Lambert deal before it happened!!

  • Pali says:

But. There must be something amiss with the way Liverpool conduct their transfer business with so many of our transfers turning into mini dramas. I believe the fact we don’t wanna pay upfront might have something to do with it!! Come on FSG. Back your manager and get these deals done ASAP. Like the Lambert deal. (Lambert big a BIG Liverpool fan is probably the main reason it was done so easily!)

lets wait during this world cup we might find a good left back at a cheap price. for me i wish we made our mildflied very strong to break. even with the defensive errors we can move in for rafhina at baryen munich

  • Roger says:

Why are we not suprised ? Like what Pali said, the media clowns didn’t even saw the Lambert deal coming. So why do we have to argue among us .Now its obvious that all those reports are just deliberately speculated and what worst is there are people who believe these things. Let’s all just wait till official announcement from LFC itself. Whatever it be, we’ve been through this situation before.
