Agger has today completed a move to his boyhood club, Brondby
It’s a sad day when a long-serving Liverpool player moves on and today, as Daniel Agger makes his move back to Brondby, many will look back at an excellent Liverpool career that could’ve been even greater.
At 29, Agger moves to his boyhood club where the Danish Superliga has not been won since the season prior to his departure and Agger will be hoping to help his old side return to the very top of Danish football.
Speaking of his move, Agger spoke to LFC.TV saying “I wouldn’t leave here to go anywhere else and that has been proven by my actions in recent seasons – I have turned down many offers to move to other Premier League and European clubs.
“I would like to thank the Liverpool supporters for the incredible backing they have given me in my time here and the warmth and generosity of spirit displayed to my family.”
Since his move to Anfield in 2006, Agger has become a folk hero, with his ability in possession and powerful left-footed piledrivers becoming a trademark of the Dane. Agger will leave many memories and we wish him all the best in his new move.
