Rodgers to keep his job at LFC?

In the past 20 minutes, Sky Sports have reported that their ‘sources’ have indicated that Liverpool will review the current situation at Liverpool, including the performance of the team but are not considering sacking Brendan Rodgers.

It’s a move that’s likely to greatly anger many fans who are now largely behind the idea that Rodgers 3 years in the job have not seen enough improvement and that the time has come to replace him.

The team suffered it’s worst defeat in decades against Stoke City yesterday, in a match that appeared to confirm that the players had lost faith in the manager, and Rodgers himself looked broken and beaten following the 6-1 defeat.

Sky Sports have claimed that sources have informed them Rodgers is going nowhere

However, if true, it appears that Liverpool plan to struggle on with Rodgers at the helm. It will certainly be an interesting few weeks, as fans are likely to make their feelings heard more loudly if it seems that the Ulsterman is to remain in charge.

Is keeping Rodgers the way to go, or are FSG making a mistake, if Sky Sports’ claims are true? For now, there are so many conflicting reports that it’s best to take all with a pinch of salt until some official line from a more reliable source, or the club itself, comes out. Let us know your thoughts below.

    Rogers time to go

  • michael says:

Give rodgers the right players and we have a top manager its the players not rodgers to get to 6 position with what we have is a good all we need is to buy good top players and get rid of the egos and deadwood and you will see rodgers is the right man.

What like Back pass Allen,Borini,Aspas,Alberto,Mignolet,Lambert,Lovren,Lallana ;-( NEED I GO ON !!! Rodgers,Ayre,Transfer committee,Scouting network NEED SACKING ASAP !!!
      OR FSG SHOULD WALK…

      • anteater says:

FSG should walk? Well, I guess if you make them a decent offer they will. Question is whether or not your piggy bank contains enough to make a decent offer.

    • Steve says:

Give Rodgers the right players,,,,,Rogers has blew millions on players and where has it got us

  • slick says:

sack the plastic fans that dont go the game, not rogers.

  • Justice says:

I can’t stomach this report. It can’t be coming from a reliable source. Rodgers has to be laid off and klop installed as the new manager. I expect FSG to not be foolish enough not to see that the club isn’t going anywhere with Rodgers as coach. I’m sure he won’t even be able to attract top quality players this summer because top players dont knw him. He’s not a world class coach. FSG has to sack him and bring in Klop. Unless they want to be a serious part of LiverpoolFC’s problems.

    • anteater says:

I don’t know who this Klop is you are babbling about, but some of our supports want a certain Klopp as our next manager. In other words, before you ask for a new manager, learn his name first. Everything else makes you look like a six-year-old.

  • reuben says:

With BR at the helm, Lfc will not attract any world class players in the transfer window. Bring in Klopp then there will be some belief in the club with players like Reus, Pedro and even Benzema considering a move to the club.

    • anteater says:

You seem to be very much in the know! Who else would want to join us if Klopp was our manager?

  • David says:

The owners won’t sack him as Rodgers has publicly backed them and taken the blame for them with their miserly and disgraceful treatment of current players and their contracts including Stevie. I’m sure Rodgers will have plenty to reveal if he gets sacked. Liverpool going nowhere for the foreseeable future

  • Ian Garrett says:

If this is the case, then the owners need to f#*k off and buy a club which matches their own ambition which is none.

  • Kevin Saliba says:

    Rodgers OUT! Bring back RAFA!

  • Linda Taylor says:

Time to go. He has had long enough.

  • afinio says:

Give Rodgers one more season, he deserves that much after last season.

  • jim bowen says:

give him 100 million this summer to buy more woeful signings and another depressing season of total misery.

  • john heffey says:

Get rid quick Rodgers can’t motivate the players he’s just not good enough Rafa or klopp

  • shingirai says:

The time is up for. Rodgers to go and Rafa to come back and he can also attract top players.look Rodgers did not buy good players the money he receive from Barcelona

  • Martyn says:

Rafa has won the champions league with LFC before with not so much of ballon d’or type of players. When he came to Chelsea a few seasons ago on an interim arrangement he changed the performance within a few games. Tried and tested, yes! tried and failed ah ah. Keep Rodgers if you are bringing back Suarez. If not, do Liverpool a favour and let him gracefully go, he will “understand”.

  • Keith says:

need to ax Rogers and get de Boer, since looks like is taking 6 month leave after season

  • Critam says:

    Unbelievable! seems either

he knows things they don’t wanna him air out and he is blackmailing them. He was disgustingly defiant in a very disguised way yesterday ; ‘…if they want me to go, I go …’

    or

they have found a perfect yes man to help em use lfc as a lucrative business

We the fans do not get any salary but we fans take all the pain. We fans have been waiting for twenty five years and seems we”ll have to walk on the temporal axis for more time if Rodgers is still in.

  • TG says:

    Rodgers out now!!!

  • January says:

Take him(BR) out. He’s nothing new to offer the club. His managerial is too shalow to manage the club like Lfc. Bring in Klop/Ben.

  • Eric says:

Rodgers has to go or else he wil relegate us

  • Brian says:

He was a vastly under qualified mid table prem league mgr when he appointed and was,and still is,totally out of his depth. His first signing Allen was nowhere near good enough for Liverpool, lacks physicality, pace, passing range, goals, energy, heading and shooting ability etc. He set the average standard and over priced nature of the subsequent signings….if I managed a team with Suarez and Sturridge, I would have come second too…this year was defining…

If I am Sanchez why would I want to play for a nobody in world football when I can play for Wenger, Van Gal,Mourinho? To get the best players to come you need a manager with a reputation or you will overpay for the dreggs…club reputation alone doesn’t cut it..

Time for a change or we will become a mid table team at best or worst the most expensive team relegated in the history of the premiership…Klopp or Ancelotti…and fast….before we waste another 100m by the end of May…last one swap Sterling for Wilshere and Walcott and give a few mil,buy Benteke….sell all the rubbish…
