With another win on the club’s pre-season tour, things are only going right for Liverpool at the moment and new Reds signing, James Milner, believes things will only continue in that vein as the season draws nearer.

Speaking to LFCTour.com, Milner said:”It’s really exciting times at the club. I think you look at the squad as it is here and there are plenty of young players coming through, the manager and the new staff he has brought in, everything is there for us.

“And there are still a number of players to come in as well so it is exciting times.

“Pre-season is a great time for us to get to know each other, the new players, and build that foundation for us for the season to kick on and go from there.

“The longer we’re together the more we’ll improve and the better we’ll get.”

The Liverpool new boy scored his first goal against Brisbane Roar on Friday morning, putting in another superb display, and is quickly winning over any remaining doubters who weren’t convinced that signing the 29 year old from Man City was a positive move for LFC.

The midfielder is likely to become a regular first team player for the club next season and his work rate and 120% attitude will only work to Liverpool’s favour, as was seen against Friday’s opposition.

Speaking on the game, Milner continued: “I think you could see from afar, really, that team unity and everybody wanting to play for each other.

“Without the ball that press and everybody doing it together – and you need to do that to play that way.

“I think looking at the characteristics of the team from afar you can see it’s a side that wants to press, wants to put teams under pressure, and when they’ve got it play as well.

“Coming in, I think it’s a great bunch of lads, a very honest bunch of lads, and people want to go that extra yard for each other.

“You need that when you’re playing this well.”

So how does Benteke fit our system ? Most of his goals are from headers and he also lacks pace just like ings. Can only be for being able to hold the ball up well with his back to goal and help bring firminho and continho into play more. 32 million pounds for that ? What a waste of sterlings money , Rodgers will be out soon. See how Gerrard is playing at a place he feels wanted ! I hope he comes back and manages our club when he’s done there, he’s will attract top players and will manage them well

Exciting times? Realistically we won’t win the title, Bodgers is abysmal in Europe so the only two trophies we can go for is the FA cup and League cup, two trophies in which he had an easy route to the semis last season and still failed to even reach the final.
