Liverpool have reportedly rejected a loan bid from Roma
Liverpool have officially rejected a loan bid for Mamadou Sakho today, according to reports, with the club also indicating that the player is not available for loan or transfer.
The 25 year old was left out of the squad last weekend for the win over Stoke, with many believing that it was primarily due to his daughter having been born three days prior to the match.
The Echo have reported today that the club has completely rejected any notion of a loan to Roma, which was believed to be with a view to a more permanent transfer at the end of the season.
It had seemed that Liverpool would be willing to do business for the French player, who has again lost his place in the side, this time to Dejan Lovren. It is clear that Rodgers favours the Croatian defender and Sakho is believed to be frustrated at his lack of action.
However, any reports that Liverpool would be willing to sell are seemingly untrue and the player would still seem to have a future at the club, despite having fallen down the pecking order at the club.
Sakho had previously had a fallout with Rodgers last season after having been left out of a game against Everton, so it remains to be seen how long he will be happy playing back up.
Although sakho looks unbalanced with the ball at his feet he seems to still be able to make the pass, he also has a high accuracy of hitting low hard passes to midfielders in space . I think he is further than a replacement for Lovren as should Lovren get injured or more likely make costly mistakes , Moreno will come in at RB and Gomez will move to centre . I hope sakho stays as for me he has been consistent and strong
